Okay I need to be told what I need to do to see Edgar and Sabin's backstory because I'm not fucking missing that.

8 & 9 have a lot of side content that locks off on the last disc.

If you put in the work you'll eventually be able to keep him permanently

Oh yeah in WoR I'm good. It's just in Sabin's story where he is a butt.

I feel like 6 has more of that than other games but I don't really remember

I think 9 had those weird quicktime event cutscenes, where if you didn't hit the button you'd just never see some stories.

I think all you need to do for that one is have both in your party first chance you get after the big upcoming Narshe event you're building towards

You just need to go into Figaro Castle with Sabin and Edgar. If you don't want to use those characters you can probably go back to Narshe afterwards and switch.

here is the way to make sure you can keep shadow permanently

I would advise you to read it even if this is your first time--there are no story spoilers here and the way to keep him is VERY unintuitive
about halfway through the game a lot of shit happens, and Shadow saves your butt, then tells you to escape, and that he'll catch up

    then a timer starts

so what you need to do is, get to the very end of this area, and the game will ask if you want to escape

say NO, and do not move

then just wait for Shadow to show up (trust me, he'll get there)

if you don't do this, he does not survive

I have never ever had Shadow ditch me before the script forces him to leave. In turn, I have never ditched Shadow.

I don't know what kind of monster ditches Shadow at that point regardless of how big of a dick he's been. There's not a playthrough I've had where I've let him die

probably the same type of person who doesn't realize how to do it

it's a missable thing! I 100% missed it my first time through!

when I was in junior high I started but did not finish a post-game fanfic starring Shadow, unmasked, that posited that FF6 took place in a post-apocalyptic version of the Zelda universe

    I love ATE

XIII is basically a huge version of that, just constantly switching perspectives and lead characters, it rules

I’m sure it’ll settle on Lightning at some point though

After the Three Scenarios are done, my next team (outside of challenge runs) is always Celes, Locke, Edgar, and Sabin.

That team gets you the most story content on the way to Zozo.

  • Options

that is true but I've generally stopped doing that because locke is of no value at that point in the game

    I bought type-0 for ps4

    it is very bad

it's about 3 different unfinished games mashed together

it does not know what it wants to be, and all of the systems are completely shallow

basically it is a waifu/husbando sim

I also bought the ps4 version cheap on a whim

I didn't hate it? I did hate the finale though which causes you to split into teams and unless you already know what is about to happen its pretty easy to do it bad and probably have to restart from last save

i wanted to buy type-0 very badly after release but they never localized it for psp.

edit: also the psp was RAD. it had patapon, weird jrpgs, truly bizarre discs, and you could put mp3s onto it.

Picked up my FF4 save last night. Maybe I'll actually get farther this time. Just switched Cecil over to Paladin.

Man I forgot how bad a lot of charachter's unique abilities are.
