Kansas State and Irvine somehow tied at the half, so could be an upset special brewing.

    Irvine is REAL good.

Also Virginia starting their game against a hapless 16 seed, just like last year.

    #13 Irvine defeats #4 KSU 70-64

    #16 Gardner-Webb leads #1 Virginia 36-30 at the half.

At least it felt like they were starting to take control near the end of the half in the way that 1/16 upset bids usually go. Which never happened last year.

I see the continuous inability of any Cincinnati based sports team (outside of Xavier every now and then) to do anything once the post season arrives has continued unabated. :(

Virginia now with the first lead in over 50 minutes of NCAA Tournament basketball against 16 seeds.

Also, this combined performance of Virginia, Tennessee, KState and Cincinnati just reiterates my initial concern that I don't like any teams in the South bracket.

Cinci is built like a classic grind-it-out B1G team at heart this year

Guess which B1G team is built around speeding up the game and taking those grinders out of their preferred playstyle?

Iowa was perhaps the worst draw the Bearcats could've gotten in the first round

Wisconsin is my first Sweet 16 team to fall. Probably the only one, unless Duke or Houston really fuck up.

Not bad for the first two days of play.

Duke/NDSU is the classic 1/16 tease. Duke is going to go on a 20-2 run pretty obviously.

Utah State playing like the team that is just happy to be here, but I think if they get out of their heads and work for it, they're the stronger team by far

He gets so many steals because he basically teleports to the ball

Utah seems to have run out of gas. Their full court is a lot easier to get through and they are cutting as fast as they need to to get away from the dogs

You're right. Washington losing their point guard at the 6 minute mark should've been a turning point, but the Aggies didn't capitalize

22 turnovers at last count. When your team reminds me of the Tommy Amaker era at Michigan, that's not good.

And now the rare 5/12 game I am rooting for the 5 pretty strongly. Fuck Falwell U

You make a good point. But I'm sure they would have found a way to lose anyway. I love UC, but at this point their postseason record isn't much better than the Bengals and the Reds.
