I'm pretty sure they added the bunny suits for dudes because they thought it was a joke

either way, I think it's clear they don't realize how many people are horny for bunny bois

like, there is a significant population of gay dudes playing cat bois right now

I would ask how they could not realize people want to fuck the catbois, but anything is possible.

    Nope.

Yeah, I specifically stopped leveling AST and SCH because I like the comparative simplicity of WHM.

Which is a bit of a shame, since I do like AST's aesthetic a lot. But god do I hate dealing with cards.

I haven't tried WHM since I learned Stoneskin back in the day. SCH seems relatively simple to me. Positioning the fairy is a unique bugbear, though. But I do kind of enjoy my weird position as Eos's DPS pet.

I find myself wondering what niche would they even do with a fourth healer. WHM goes hard on raw heals and regen, SCH is ostensibly the shield healer, and AST option-selects between those two roles with each fight. Which, that makes me wonder if they have any other ideas, if the third healer is either the same niche as the first, or the same niche as the second.

I'm not a MMO balancer (and man, it seems like a tough job), but I'd probably make the fourth healer similar to the Protection Prayers spec for the Guild Wars monk. So you've got some traditional heals in there, but it's largely about mitigating damage to targets you know are gonna take hits by either increasing their passive defenses (like block/parry rates in the case of FF14), placing a buff on them that triggers a heal as soon as they're hit, or absorbing some of the damage as health.

You couldn't do a perfect 1:1, since combat is balanced pretty differently between GW and FF14, but I think there's enough design space there.

I would like to remind everyone there is a decently sized gulf between the development team and Square Enix's marketing robots.

I would like to remind everyone of Concept Au'Ra, and Au'Ra as they exist now, and the stated reasons why.

Although Yoshi-P at this point should have enough cache in the company to tell em to fuck off, but who the hell knows....maybe Ronzo was the compromise after large amounts of blood was spilt.

pretty sure we're sufficiently aware of how complicated game development is

and that we can still be REALLY disappointed by some of the decisions they make

unless I missed someone being hyperbolic or something, in here

Like you'll get some of the Hard Furries, but they are perfectly happy with pretty Catbois anyway and they all unanimously want bunnybois.

hey speak for yourself, I have standards

My idea for a dancer healer was instead of a caster they string together dance moves into a combo like melee dps. So, like, in order to do a big heal you need to anticipate when you'll need it so you can go through the combo tree to it.

My idea was like Fistweaving in WoW. Healing procs through melee combos and OCD heals, etc.

I wasn't interested in Bunny folk, but I do wish boy buns were an option for folks.

I'll never make a serious run at SCH because I'm not a fan of the pet UI in this game (playing a hunter in WoW for like 14 years does that I guess).

I just put Eos on "only do stuff other than Embrace when I tell you to" mode.

You can usually place eos at the center of the arena or behind the boss and be fine

Unless the arena's super big and either requires lots of moevement, or encourages all the mages to sit back in Narnia just because they can.

I hope they buff Selene. Be nice if that was an actual choice, instead of Eos just being hilariously better.

Selene has two main things going for it if you don't need Eos's higher healing output.
    1) AoE cleanse. The only one in the game. I don't think it's particularly useful outside of a few instances though (read: Rathalos Exteme) since most removable effects are because someone goofed
    2) Haste, 50% uptime. It's only 3%, but it hits the whole party.

In general, you can set her to autopilot and walk away. And she heals directly the same at Eos, so for keeping the tank up there's no difference. Never been sure how good the AI is at hitting her interrupt.

Depending on the fight, you can swap to Selene for one phase, then swap back to Eos as the boss transitions.

Like Alphascape 4 Normal and its DPS check section.

If you math out the haste buff it's REALLY weak, is the thing. It's like 1 extra gcd or something.

I'd like them to buff the haste significantly, and replace the silence with something more useful.

Yeah that’s 1000% not my intention.

I was just trying to give some hope that maybe this was more of a marketing team decision then the Dev team since that’s what happened previously.

It doesn’t make a shitty situation any less shitty though.

Selenes haste buff is only worth it at the beginning of the fight during your opener or if you're in an optimized raid environment and are parse chasing

unless I'm misremembering, he makes clear that he personally doesn't have a problem with it, but he knows the rest of syndicate will revolt unless there's some upswing for them to invest in ala mhigo

keeping the syndicate in check was the whole impetus for nanamo to turn to godbert for advice to begin with, he's basically the only syndicate member with any scruples, now that raubahn is out
