Was startropica the one with the zelda 2 like overworld and the zelda 1 dungeons?

I feel like there were a lot of really good zelda clones from that era that never got the respect they deserve.

Are you thinking of Blaster Master?

Just pee on the switch, it will make the message appear.

Don't be ridiculous. You pee on the Switch for the part of the game where you get stung by a jellyfish. You have to dunk the Switch in a fishbowl to get the message to appear later on in the game.

Pulled my switch off the dock for like the fourth time ever because I’m spending a few hours in a waiting room today.
Get here and turn it in to discover that my right joycon is completely dead and not recognized by the system.
The thing has maybe 10 hours of total use on it.

I miss the days when Nintendo made best in class hardware, but I doubt that’s coming back now that they’re wildly successful selling trash.

If anyone is curious about Baba Is You on Nintendo Switch, I had a blast playing it for my review. It's a puzzle game where you can change the rules of the puzzle itself to solve it. There are over 200 levels and some of them get pretty abstract as you progress further through the game. One thing that usually drives me away from some puzzle games is a lack of progression or getting stuck on a single puzzle. But as you get deeper into Baba Is You, sometimes up to 10 or 15 levels are available to attempt at once. It kept me from getting stuck and frustrated for too long on one puzzle, which was a good feeling.

The squigglevision is a take it or leave it kind of thing. It's absolutely worth the $15 asking price.

To be fair, with the internet being as pervasive a thing as it is these days, this isn't as much of a catastrophe as it would have been even 10 years ago. Still bad, but not game-ruining.

As a kid, I got Startropics used at a garage sale or something and it didn't come with the game manual. Since it was the days before the internet, I sat there and entered in the 3 digit code, starting from 000, 001, etc, until I finally hit the code 747. It took forever. I still remember the code to this day because of that. It was a fun game.

For those with access to the JP shop, I'd like to push a series that I love but suck horribly at.

The demo for Umihara Kawase Fresh! was put up a few days ago, and it's playable in English. Umihara Kawase is a series of physics based puzzle platformers with the primary mechanic of using a fishing line as a grappling hook to get from the start of a stage to one of the goals. Your jumping ability and running speed isn't great, but because of the line's elasticity you can pull off tricks like sling-shooting yourself forward or swinging around the underside of a ledge to reach a platform tucked beneath it. There's also enemies you'll need avoid or hook and reel in with the line, and obstacles like slippery ice and conveyor belts. The previous entries had practically no story and were pure arcade, time attack style affairs, but this newest one seems to be mixing things up with an ongoing quest, items to collect, recipes to cook, and a big continuous world instead of small, separate stages.

Apparently Play-Asia is producing a physical version of Panty Party so hardcore collectors feel like they need to buy it to maintain their collection, even though they are incredibly embarrassed.

Who is embarrassed here, the collectors or Play-Asia? (The correct answer should be "both. ")

Is it odd that this trailer is really selling me on a bartending game? lol.

I sometimes wonder what goes through the minds of the factory workers that have to produce this shit.

No more embarrassed than buying it in a shop, I'm sure.

Play-Asia, for better or worse, is highly unembarrassed about anything Japan can come up with. I had to block them on Facebook at work because they kept showing me ads for niche Japanese sex visual novels.

And this is why I always shop Ami-Ami :3 (also because they don't mark the shit up on their prices like Play Asia).
