Apparently Play-Asia is producing a physical version of Panty Party so hardcore collectors feel like they need to buy it to maintain their collection, even though they are incredibly embarrassed.
My rule of thumb is that if someone is buying something because they have to complete the set and they don’t really want it but are being forced, then they actually wanted the thing in the first place and are glad to have the excuse but don’t want anyone to think that.
It’s the I don’t really want the swimsuit issue but dang it comes with my subscription defense.
I had heard of VA-11 HALL-A, but I didn't know anything about it. Reading a bunch of reviews today has convinced me that I need to pick it up (or, y'know, add it to the wishlist). I'd like to wait til it's on sale, but I'm definitely interested.
Apparently Play-Asia is producing a physical version of Panty Party so hardcore collectors feel like they need to buy it to maintain their collection, even though they are incredibly embarrassed.
Who is embarrassed here, the collectors or Play-Asia? (The correct answer should be "both. ")
Play-Asia, for better or worse, is highly unembarrassed about anything Japan can come up with. I had to block them on Facebook at work because they kept showing me ads for niche Japanese sex visual novels.
And this is why I always shop Ami-Ami (also because they don't mark the shit up on their prices like Play Asia).
Plus Ami-Ami isn't run by GooberGrape edgelords. (I usually shop YesAsia, myself)
Saw Katamari was on sale for $20.99, so hell yeah I'm rolling now. I really wish Bayonetta 2 physical would go on sale someday. I've had a hankering for the Bayo games for a bit now, but Nintendo's allergy to price drops on physical games keeps me from jumping in. That and I already bought them once on WiiU, so the thought of full price again makes me hesitate.

Because "Great deals this week!" is not especially helpful, I recently found out there's a subreddit that breaks it all down by country, what's new, etc. (r/NintendoSwitchDeals)
They put the newest entries in bold and it looks like there's quite a lot this week, including all the first 3 SteamWorld games. I only had Dig 1 from PS+, but that's $2.99. I'm super tempted on Heist: Ultimate Edition ($5.99) and maybe Dig 2 as well ($9.99).
I can vouch for Bastion & Jotun at $7.49 each, and Darkest Dungeon at $17.49. Cheaper elsewhere, but still pretty good value there.

Donkey Kong Jr. – Based on the popular arcade game, Donkey Kong Jr. is the sequel to the immensely successful Donkey Kong game. Play as Donkey Kong’s son, and rescue your dad who has been kidnapped and imprisoned in a cage by Mario. Use jumping and climbing abilities to clamber up vines and chains, gather vital fruit and keys, and open the cage to free your father. Make sure you avoid the pesky birds, nasty electric sparks and creepy chompers. Four different worlds filled with numerous climbing and jumping puzzles await you in this timeless classic.
VS. Excitebike – Fans love the Excitebike game for its frenetic races, high stakes and sweet jumps. With this game, you can take it to the next level with the Famicom disk version of VS. Excitebike – complete with two-player split screen. Create tracks from 20 classic Excitebike track parts, and go for a best time or take on friends. Racing is even more exciting when the rivalries are real. You can also try out the single-player mode in VS. Excitebike. It adds tracks, music and the ability to save your high score.
Clu Clu Land – The greedy Sea Urchins have stolen all of Clu Clu Land’s gold bars and buried them in a series of mazes. As Bubbles, a brave bubble fish, you’ll set out to uncover all of the gold bars in each maze. With 20 stages to complete and increasingly complex conditions (like having to pass over the gold bars twice to uncover them), you might just want to bring along a friend for help.

Yes and no. Generally sale prices go into effect at 9:00 am PST on Thursdays, but if it's a marquee sale (i.e., Nintendo games or others being highlighted) those tend to start at 9:00 am on Fridays.
Man, nothing on my wishlist on sale last week, or this week. The Switch tax has really just resulted in me buying fewer games overall. I don't buy games on PS4 because I feel like I'd rather have the portability of the Switch, and I don't buy games on Switch, because I hate how much more expensive they are compared to PS4.
That's pretty much my feeling as well, it definitely hasn't endeared me to Nintendo, even though I also suspect that game prices at MSRP probably are already stagnant and not enough for developers.
