has anyone watched the hateful 8-extended-but-now-it's-a-4-part-miniseries version that's on netflix?
i never bothered with the original (partially for its length) but treating MORE of the same thing as a series with stopping points has almost enticed me to go ahead and check it out, because that makes some marginal amount of sense
i only saw the roadshow version of hateful 8
i do not recommend anyone repeating my mistake, even if it is on Netflix
Lionsgate has commenced Highlander creator Gregory Widen to script Black Samurai, an action drama grounded in the historical tale of Yasuke, reputed to be the first black samurai to serve a warlord in Japan. Mike De Luca and Stephen L’Heureux are producing, and the film is a co-production between Solipsist Films and De Luca Productions.
Long story short, it's finally moving forward! Narcos' Doug Miro is going to be writing the script now instead of Widen, and Chadwick Boseman is going to be playing Yasuke
“The legend of Yasuke is one of history’s best kept secrets, the only person of non-Asian origin to become a Samurai,” Boseman said. “That’s not just an action movie, that’s a cultural event, an exchange, and I am excited to be part of it.”
I would love to see an African American director attached to this as well

The Toy Story 4 trailer I got at Endgame was insanely dark, and I don't mean the lighting. Might just be the trailer editing but it seems like they diving into Bojack levels of soul punching?

See, I agree with the first two things and hard disagree with the 3rd. Care was taken to make a well-crafted self-parody that lampshaded all of his worst instincts.
The $150M-budgeted action-sci-fi is about an unlikely band of misfits who must save mankind when the moon falls out of orbit and hurtles toward earth. Previously set up at Universal, the project is now available in the independent market space with AGC Studios and CAA Media Finance on board for world sales.

I looked it up and incredibly, this is actually completely separate from a SF potboiler called Moonfall so obscure that it doesn't even have a Wikipedia page. In that one, a comet crashes into the Moon and shatters it, and if I recall correctly, one of the main plot points is about the Vice President trying to get off the US Moonbase without also looking cowardly to voters.
