Okay

So

333?cb=20190117181842
In the late 19th century there was a very large boy, his name was Jonathan Joestar and he was a good boy but a dim boy, and he was a little rich boy

latest?cb=20180826225022
and then in comes this prince among men, Dio Brando, to usurp his place within his family and claim his inheritance through all sorts of duplicity like definitely not killing a dog who is for sure still alive, then one thing leads to another and he becomes an immortal vampire god, you know how it be sometimes, and Jonathan has to learn magic yoga to defeat him, and then does

270?cb=20170521193900
50 years later we move ahead to the greatest man in all of history, Jonathan Joestar's grandson Joseph, who's a trickster asshole and an overall little shit, but he and his husband Caesar step up with even more magic yoga powers to win the day and predict what people are going to say

latest?cb=20190117103858
50 years after THAT we move even further down the line to JOSEPH's grandson Jotaro, the most ungrateful garbage man who ever wore a hat, and he looks at the magic yoga and says "magic yoga? that's for losers!" and decides to retcon the series with the new way people punch each other, psychic Pokemon called Stands that everyone now has and only 40-80% of them will be music references, and he has to journey across the world to defeat the now-returned Dio

Chr_profile_Josuke_Higashikata.png
a decade later we now follow the next JoJo Josuke, who looks silly but is purely the best lad with a heart of gold, and you can tell that because he wears one on his lapel, and he and his friends in his small town of Moiroh have to band together to stop a looming threat in the town

Chr_profile_Giorno_Giovanna.png240?cb=20150523115246latest?cb=20181104035833240?cb=20160109035510
I...don't know what their deal is

I haven't gotten there yet OKAY there's a LOT leave me ALONE

PS this thread is a Polnareff-free zone if you are or you know a Polnareff you have to state that ahead of time and it will be dealt with accordingly

I'm like 7 episodes into Stardust Crusaders now

I keep waiting for a character called Iggy to arrive, I'd better not be disappointed.

Also Jojo in this one is kind of a shit but Matt Mercer is as charming as ever so I don't mind him

Joseph and Caesar were the best and I'm mad they didn't get to sail off into the sunset. No wonder old Joseph is so grumpy.

Iggy is fairly late. You do get random teen girl they basically kidnap in the meantime

I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.

I'm going to be dog sitting a dog that looks basically identical to Iggy in June.

His name is Oreo, but he will be called Iggy the whole time he is with us.

I will post pictures. Also blame all farts on him.

    Premises for the remaining JoJos

    Giorno
Turns out that at some point, Dio had a son! This doofy little crime boy has A GOLDEN DREAM OF BECOMING THE GANG-STAR, and launches a plan to infiltrate the mafia and take it over from the inside, both to realize his dream and to stop the drug trade

    Jolyne
Even Jotaro's daughter knows that he's a garbage man. Unfortunately, her dad's enemies use her to get to him, and she ends up framed for murder and sent to a prison in Florida run by one of Dio's former lovers! Now she has to fight to survive the prison, save her dad, and beat up a really shitty priest

    Johnny
God okay this all got too complicated let's start over. Johnny Joestar is an arrogant but talented horse jockey in the late 19th century, whose life is ruined when he gets paralyzed in a horse-racing accident. He happens to meet Gyro Zepelli, an Italian cowboy whose sacred mission has brought him to America, and together the two enter the Steel Ball Run, a race from Los Angeles to New York with an extravagant cash prize and a mysterious hidden purpose.

    JoJo 8
Eyyy, it's the reboot continuity's version of Josuke!... Or, that's what we're calling him anyway? Whoever this guy is, he woke up half-dead with no memory near a creepy faultline that opened up in Morioh after the 2011 tsunami. He also has two scrotums, for... Some reason?! Anyway in the quest to regain his memory he's found himself in the middle of an international smuggling ring of magical wish-granting fruits from an island of rock people, you know, as you do. Also he might just have the single most bullshit Stand to date.

Maaaan, I’d play a JoJo RPG

There’s an RPGMaker game out there called “The Seventh Stand User”, which is pretty well-regarded. It’s done in the style of Final Fantasy Legends, with tiny overworld sprites and considerably more detailed art in the battles. The game is in black and white, so that it can keep the aesthetic of the manga panels in the fights.

It takes place during the events of Stardust Crusaders, with you playing as a seventh Stand user that wasn’t in the original story. It assigns you a Stand from a pool of 18 after a personality quiz, and each one has different effects in and out of battle.

From what I have heard, it’s got a fairly large number of alternate scenarios and endings depending on what you do to change the course of the story. It also throws in some characters and plot elements from earlier and later parts just for funsies.

I’ve been playing it recently, and have found it to be pretty neat. Though I’m not very far in; I’m just before the boss fight with Polnareff in China. My character ended up with the Stand Quicksilver, which is basically an arm-mounted cannon that uses minerals as fuel to shoot stuff like sunlight, fire, and water jets. Other stands I know of from the game include Deep Purple, which controls the atmosphere in a short range around it, and Pixies, which uses little fairy things to control objects and move the earth.

That sounds awesome, I'll have to check it out.

I feel like the one thing that would be really hard to do in a videogame version of JoJo is adapt the "Oh, it was my plan the entire time to be kicked in the nuts!" thing.

Jonathan drinks straight up black coffee
Joseph drinks espresso, like, a LOT (but only American coffee!!)
Jotaro drinks black coffee but secretly puts a LOT of sugar in it

I feel like there’s a bit too much meandering with random stand users in the midsection. But the setting lets those random stand users offer very different scenarios than Stardust Crusaders could. Like, the Tonio episode is basically completely filler. But it’s one of my favorites.
