I get the feeling that she's using tech based upon Renard's connection to Annie, and that'd be a breach of contract to do so or something

Yeah this definitely has something to do with Kat using the computer as an intermediary when transferring control of Renard back to Annie - I figured that was gonna backfire somehow I just thought it'd turn out down the line that Renard wasn't actually owned any more.
