I will say this for Coded, it has the best depiction of "My friends are my power!" in the franchise.
That whole section in Hollow Bastion where Data Sora loses the keyblade, Donald and Goofy come to help him out, and all the commands in your command deck are replaced by Donald and Goofy's moves is sooooo good.

I only watched the cutscenes on 2.5 but that sounds pretty great
-Wait for them to play a card
-match their card to start a duel (or zero them out if they're doing a combo)
-mash the crap outta the x button
Duels give you a time limit for how long you have to beat the other person a certain number of times. Thing is, there's no penalty for throwing out a low card. Mashing x to just throw your whole deck at them is way faster and more reliable than actually hunting for the right cards. You even have time to reload your deck and it's not a problem.
Does KHUX regularly release new story content? I get the sense that it does
Im tryin to play through it before starting 3, but I don't wanna play stuff that came out AFTER 3 by mistake. Could anyone tell me what chapter I should stop at? I know I need to play to at least 350 (I'm at 200 now)
There's 1 post-3 update, or it was released parallel, or something
There are no spoilers for KH3, but there's a thing in the most recent update of KHUX that illuminates someting in KH3. All that will happen is instead of playing KH3 and then KHUX and going 'huh, okay' you'll do it in the opposite order.

Hey everyone,
After two months of off-and-on playing/side questing/getting my family up to speed with the overall story I finished Kingdom Hearts III late last night.
I'm posting from page 58 where I stopped checking the thread in late January so I'm excited to see what everyone has to say (retro Agrees/Awesomes inbound!).
Quick reaction: I will say that this game is an absolute blast to play and, IMO, delivered in several ways but I am still processing the story and sooo tired right now.
Going to take a short break from playing it but cannot wait to come back and finish some more side quest/achievement stuff (I say I roughly completed 70% of the game on Proud; secret video unlocked but no post game stuff yet).
So Everglow translated the latest set of KHUx events and uhhhhhhhhhh
So Brain looks a lot better here, as he seems to have figured out that KHUx takes place in a data world and that there has to be a way back to the real world. But there’s also another, “future” world connected to it that doesn’t have a data counterpart, so he sends the player character and Ephemer to go check it out.
AND THEN THE STORY BIT FOR THE MONTH JUST ENDS WITH YOU DISCOVERING A WRECK-IT RALPH WORLD WHAT THE FUCK NOMURA!

Interesting.
That actually soft-confirms Brain as the imposter, because (KH3 spoilers)
One of the secret reports written by Luxu states the “virus” is the one that comes up with a plan to world hop again.
I wonder what's up with that scene of Young Xehanort. He ain't got the telltale golden eyes of Darkness, and the dialogue makes me think they may be gearing up to reveal that he intentionally became who he ended up being in service of some greater goal than what his older self was aiming for.
cause those sure looked like just playing the vs.Org13 fights from near the end of the game as the people Sora was helping.
i could easily imagine that it's pretty slight gameplay wise but has some cutscenes that flesh some things out more and maybe tease where kingdom heart's gonna go next (because the odds of it actually following up on the secret ending right away seem low)
ahaha, this forbidden knowledge is too much for me. (the thread goes on to give evidence for this theory, gonna be amazed if he's somehow the KHX protag specifically because of what they mention)
i have never played nor even watched footage of any previous kingdom hearts game. But i love Disney stuff and I’m in the mood for some hack and slash so I bought this on sale. Excited for the craziness, I’m going to approach it the same way I do metal gear, not really pay attention to the details but enjoy the overall impression and enthusiasm of the story

I suppose, but its gonna have to have some chunky gameplay to get me to buy it.
Pretty sure that Luxord’s name was chosens to reference a famous casino.
And that if a “playing games” pun is intended, it’s right there in his whole card ting, not hidden.

Kind of old news but wanted to share that I spotted a few of those PSA Kindness is Key billboard ads that has Sora and some KH3 scenes over the last few weeks (spoilered for big):
Nothing terribly fancy (and my phone camera doesn't do it justice) but always get a big smile whenever I see one driving around town.

Luke is literally the only person I have ever heard say that Coded has the best story, so I'm fascinated to see how the hell that math works.

I have $50 worth of Amazon giftcards.
Do you imagine it'll continue to drop in the coming months or spike back up?
I'm just trying to gauge this as I'd like to finally dip my toe into the KH pond.
I still don't know what is happening.
I kind of wish they had done it in release order.
I have a big crush on Natalie.

I ain't spending $20ish on a bunch of cutscenes.
