I haven’t even finished the launch game content, yet!

Is it me? Am I “The Bad”? (all signs point to blue parallel).

Throw me into The Bad Pile as well, I haven't done a whole heck of a lot either.

Latest content: So I just gave a speech to my faction, blood and thunder and all that, now what?

Is there bread crumbs to get me to dantooine...or do I just go there?

  • ShadowenShadowen Snores in the morning LoserdomRegistered User regular
There's those news terminals you get with some of the other events on the fleet. They have their own unique news stories to lead you there.

You can also hit Ctrl+G and tab over to Solo, and at the bottom of the list will be Event: Dantooine Incursion, which will teleport you right there, once you have the story quest from the news thing.

Anyway, new content frenzy having relaxed somewhat, it's more than just that. They fixed on of their interface issues that's been bothering me for a while. You can't just chuck legacy bound items from one container to another; they wouldn't stack if they were stackable, because of something to do with how legacy binding works.

Or at least you couldn't. Now when you want to throw unassembled components or scrap or supply crates into your bank or cargo, it just goes on the stack.

As for content...I'm probably as much of a completionist on this game for content as anyone else is. And there's still stuff I haven't done and I started playing before the first expansion came out (though after it went free to play).

Anyone know what happened to dulfy.net? It was my go-to place for all things SWTOR, but it hasn't updated since 30 April.

Also, can someone explain command tokens to me? I'm nearly at the cap, and the only thing I've found to spend it on are command boosts. I found the vendor that sells tier 1 gear, but I'm way past tier 1.

What am I supposed to do with this embarrassment of riches?

    Sic transit gloria mundi.
  • ShadowenShadowen Snores in the morning LoserdomRegistered User regular
Gear up another character at the level cap. Command tokens are legacy wide.

  • [Expletive deleted][Expletive deleted] The mediocre doctor NorwayRegistered User regular
Don't have any other characters at the cap. I guess I'll buy a couple of boosts. Can't go wrong with that, I guess.

    Sic transit gloria mundi.
  • ShadowenShadowen Snores in the morning LoserdomRegistered User regular
Indeed. You can get them from boxes but you'll often go a long time without getting one from them (and then get three in four crates).

So I got my mando up through the story content recently. Mando was a dude, as opposed to my vanguard who was Commander Shepard. Mando has always been one of my piece of shit characters, but he romanced Elara during the main story and she didn't seem to notice how darkside he was. When I met up with Elara again she had started noticing. I don't know if there was any possibility of getting her back as a companion, but she was pretty mad. There was a "but you're the love of my life!" dialog choice but that wasn't something mando was going to say, having realized that a sith spy makes a really excellent choice for him in many ways. All the other dialog choices were not on the persuasive side.

Also, The latest mini-chapter involves going before the press, so aside from Sofia who already has a ton of swank outfits, and Cut (the mando) who doesn't give a shit, I've been making new fancy outfits for each of my characters. Going through my collections to find outfits that suit each one made me realize that I REALLY wish there was a unified naming scheme for the outfits that are remakes of previous outfits only with pieces cut out. Some of them are "casual" some of them are "ventilated" some of them are "daring", etc. Please just give me a "slutty" filter, swtor.

So the Pirate Incursion event might be my favorite in the game. It's shockingly easy to make credits, get conquest points, or even gain command levels (once you factor in the rewards for meeting your conquest goal and getting the guild across the line) over multiple toons. Granted, the changes they made to how you acquire conquest points this week likely help as well (now you get conquest points at the same time you do anything that gets you command XP), as does the double XP/CXP event this week, but I was able to do it last week as well.

When I finally realized the Balmorra heroics advanced conquest every time, not just once per day, I switched to that over the weekend and got like twenty characters to the personal goal in two days. On my Republic-side guild, which is all but dead, I almost single-handedly got the guild to the 170k conquest goal in that time. And I swear I've made at least 8 million credits just today.

Also TIL that the HK-55 themed jetpack doesn't have one nozzle and two wings, it has three nozzles, two of which are inactive and angled slightly out to the sides until engaged by doing a mount flourish.

Also, did Bug Hunt for the first time last night and it's kind of a trip. 4 hours to go from level 20 to level 60, and that was on another server without the XP-boosting gear from the Dark vs. Light event. (I stopped there because it was like 4 a.m. and I was tired.)

But yeah I thought getting the CZ-13K Guerrilla set for only 1m was going to be my best bargain of the night and then the baton happened. I decided to keep it, not flip it, because again, it was on a different server from my main one and I wouldn't be able to use the credits to unlock something I really cared about on a character I was actually attached to, and at the same time because it's technically only a silver item, when a cartel unlock sale turns up I'd only need 120 coins to buy it if I really wanted it for someone. I also have no idea how long it would take something that costs that much to sell on the GTN unless I also drastically undercut standard price.

Anyway, doing Balmorra heroics for conquest all day erry day across all my alts, I made 26 million credits between Tuesday and Friday. Added to the money I made last week and I was had over 50 million on my main server. This meant I was able to increase my overall collection's completion by a whole 1%.

Nar Shaddaa Nightlife is back, with a few new things you can buy with golden certs, cartel certificates you can use to buy older, harder-to-find cartel market gear in the Bazaar on the fleet (though some of them, from what I can tell, don't unlock in your collections, it's much cheaper and more certain if you have the certificates than digging through the market or buying old crates, though you will also need rep with the faction), and a new companion: Phrojo Nuray, a Rodian mercenary who was so successful he retired from active merc work and decided to only take jobs that really glossed his image; now he's decided to include one such contract as a jackpot in Nar Shaddaa's most upscale casinos. He also is one of like two companions left in the game that still uses assault cannons. He also likes military gear best, which is annoying because so does Shae Vizla.

I beat the odds this year--it didn't even take me half a million credits' worth of chips to win Phrojo's contract. I was playing for so short a time I didn't get any of the mounts you can win in that few plays, though I did get a couple of cartel certs and a dozen or do golden ones.

    Good news everyone!

And by everyone I mean free-to-play and preferred players!

Changes are coming to the free-to-play and preferred level players!

The credit cap is increasing to one million space bucks!

    Everyone gets one more quickbar!

And remember medical probes, cause I sure don't, now you can use them!

    Hooray!

Between the higher credit cap and the medical probes, that’s the two major downsides you can’t work around. Sweet.

So I'm actually starting to... enjoy... GSF?! Turns out they were smart to add it as an occasional weekly requirement to get gear crystals. I'm still not GOOD at it, mind you, but I know a few tricks now, and have some stuff leveled up.

Also regarding regular PVP, I've started going in as a healer sometimes. This seems to often be a mistake. Not because I put a target on myself (that's kind of amusing, in seeing how far the enemy will go to try to kill me after I've evaded them for long enough), but because I tend to feel like the DPS doesn't know what they should be doing (capping a turret, placing a bomb on the door, etc). That when left to their own devices, too often DPS will just choose to DPS instead of the PVP objective.

Occasionally my dedication to individual character aesthetic baffles me.

I have many, many characters, but I only consider eight of them as having been the "canon" characters to do the stories. However, beyond even that, some of them aren't even "canon" within my headcanon universe. So for example most of my troopers exist in Republic Special Forces alongside the canon one, even if they didn't go through the same storyline, usually leading or part of their own squads. One, however, began because I wanted to see the Dorne romance, and I also ship Jorgan and Dorne. Ergo I made a male Cathar trooper named More-gan (since he would already have Jorgan in the squad, he would be More-gan). After chapter 1, though, I realized I now had Captain More-gan, so I rethemed his aesthetics entirely around being a pirate, including dying the pirate gear from Rishi red and blue.

Anyway, one of my Sith Assassins is from an alternate universe; he's my canon Jedi Knight if he'd been raised Sith. He's more or less the male Smuggler's personality put through the Sith Inquisitor storyline. In-game his romance is Ashara (though between vanilla and Ashara's return he flirted with every woman he could and also shacked up with Lana for a while), but every female companion an Inquisitor can get, he has, and also gotten their influence to 50. I gave him a harem chamber, put all the lady companions I could fit into it, and put all of them into the skimpy cartel market clothes. And he's such a relentless horndog I think that's still not enough; in the alternate universe he inhabits he figured out ways to get with female characters you can flirt with but not consummate any attraction (at least not yet, for some such characters), among them Satele Shan.

I've never had any of the early holostatues. I wasn't playing the game at the right time to get Oggurrob's statue, and the other ones were too expensive on the GTN even when I started paying attention to it (and most of the time until recently I wasn't even looking in the toys section). But I'm so far along in my quest to collect everything that three million credits for the Satele Shan holostatue was right about the middle of my price range tonight (and it was also cheaper than I normally see the Satele statue).

So now he has Satele. Even if she's not real, and even though he's at max level, and even though since he's an Imperial-side character it'll be useless to him even when the expansion raises the level cap.

I spent three million credits on a fucking joke.

I'd say I need a hobby but this is my hobby.

Canon characters speak to my soul.

Even though I have a female JK my headcannon JK is actually a friends dude Light side then Dark Side JK Sentinel, specifically to play off my Sage Consular(who is essentially Jedi Jesus and was a master by like 14 and boy I’ll tell you what the JK isn’t bitter about not being a master even after saving the Republic multiple times no siree.)

There is so much untapped hilariously expensive potential though different classes interacting with each other, especially since they all occupy easily distinguishable niche’s from each other.

Even if my head-canon republic loving Dark Side Sith Assassin makes no sense( I really wish there was an option for the Inquisitor to hate the Sith without being LS. Cause, you know, YEARS AS A Sith SLAVE.[/spoiler]

One of these days I’m gonna write down all my headcanon alignments and classes.

My Inq absolutely hates the Sith, the former Emperor, etc etc, while being a very dark shade of grey. (And even that bit of 'light' is founded on pragmatism; as an outsider not very invested in the culture or status quo, he's willing to discard dogma and do whatever adds to his own power/gets him more minions, some of whom may end up being promoted to "mostly-trusted ally" if they serve well and prove themselves.)
IMO, the canon Inq background tends to produce characters who focus on the last bit of the Sith Code:

Through Victory my chains are Broken.
    The Force shall free me.

IIRC your original choice is the recorded one. It doesn't overwrite those choices.

Which is why I have never used the skip-ahead functionality--because I might want to go back later for a "canon" run...

Well, your decisions are made. If I decide I want them differently, I can go back and replay the chapter, but certain decisions from the past will still be fixed. It won't really change things within the chapter, but on the outside you still don't have access to certain folks because they're dead or gone.

Much more of a problem for the Imperials than the Republic. The Imperial default decision tree can best be summed up by crossing fandoms: Valar morghulis.

  • [Expletive deleted][Expletive deleted] The mediocre doctor NorwayRegistered User regular
Still a bit confused. You didn't do the chapters, so that you can do the chapters later?

Anyway, I guess it doesn't really matter. I did do the chapters, and replaying doesn't actually change anything. Which is cool; I just wanted a few screenshots anyway.

If you skip ahead, default decisions are recorded forever more. You can replay the chapters, but outside of the chapter you are stuck with those decisions

Today I discovered that you can't do a thing with Shae and Torch the way you can with HK-51 and HK-47. (If you're not aware, you need to fight HK-47 in The False Emperor to get a part to unlock HK-51, but if you bring HK-51 with you on future runs of The False Emperor, 51 and 47 trade insults.) But if you try to do Blood Hunt, at least in story mode, Shae is locked out of your available companions. (It's also annoying because Shae is best DPS.

She also sits out the single-player battle against the Revan-ant, though she will turn up in the weekly version of the quest.)

I got a notification last month that there was unusual activity with my account, but since I've been busy with Battletech I hadn't tried to log in and I had skipped the email since it was with a bunch of other usual offers...so here's hoping they didn't get in. I do have 2 factor authentication on so hopefully that did the job.

Calling in was a mixed bag. The connection was poor enough I had to call a second time, but the wait time was basically nonexistant, which...goddamn, I can't remember the last time I called a big business and didn't have to navigate a ridiculous phone tree and wait on hold for at least 10 minutes. So that was nice. Took 20 minutes to go through the process of changing all the security settings and passwords for both my EA and SWTOR accounts, and apparently it will take some amount of time (hours? Days?) for them to complete their investigation.

But we'll see. I hope I'll get information on what was attempted. If that password is toast it would be interesting to find out how it got compromised since I don't think I use it anywhere else...but it's also not one of the unique passwords.

Well. It is now. Thank you, KeePass.

I've always had a soft spot for Malavai Quinn, and not the hate boner most people have towards him. I started leveling up one of my female sith Warriors with the intent of getting back into romance with Quinn when he came back. But I made some "mistakes."

The first was that I made this sith too likeable - mostly lightside with a little murder violence (essentially, if you try to kill me or my people, you will be killed if I have the opportunity.) So I like her and relate to her. Second mistake was having her romance Theron while waiting for Quinn to show up. This wouldn't have been an issue had Quinn shown up sooner, but also there was a third mistake - I sided with the empire during the Iokath mission. Which meant there was a Mexican standoff between Theron and his dad which was a real bad scene and made me feel guilty enough to choose the line"Don't, Theron, I couldn't live with myself if I was the reason you killed your father." To which he replies, in a suitably emotional voice (that voice actor is fucking tops), "and I couldn't live without you." At that line, I decided Malavai Quinn was gonna die.

Why die? Well, I was already planning to choose Republic side on Ossus. Quinn could be convinced to defect ONLY if you romance him. So it was a choice between throw him in prison or murder him. Based on my rule of killing back those who tried to kill me, he really deserved murder anyway, and prison would be an annoying lose end. So murder it was.

I was not prepared for how hilarious his death scene would be. Poor dude was there with his usual tremulous voice almost begging my sith to still be in love with him. It was then that the lightsaber stab came, as if out of nowhere. Hearing him get blamed for the shit he did was pretty satisfying, I must admit.

I found out that some years ago LEGO made SWTOR sets, but I never got any. Plus, since half the point of SWTOR is that you can make your own character, it would be let-down to get LEGO's idea of, say, a Jedi knight.

Over the last three weeks I've found and assembled the pieces I need to get as close to possible to my main character, under the constraint of only using official LEGO pieces and no custom decals.

My main is Marmoni, a dark side Sith assassin.

    Behold!

    d6b3hfy9fevb.jpg4zd41ily1c2c.jpg

    LEGO Marmoni is made from:
    • Torso and skirt from a Praetorian Guard (Snoke's Throne Room, 75216)
    • P.I.X.A.L.'s head (Ninja Copter, 70724)
    • Shoulder armor from Mr. E. (Street Race of Snake Jaguar, 70639)
    • Lightsaber, hands and hair from wherever

    Edit:
If you're curious, SWTOR Marmoni is wearing:
    • Armored Interrogator Breastplate
    • Conquered Exarch's Meditation Gloves
    • Organa Statesman's Sash
    • Armored Interrogator Lower Robe
