Psychopathy could exist in any color, honestly. It's just not understanding codes of ethics, when boiled down.

Has magic had a mono green villain? There has to be one that is just slipping my mind (I guess Vorenclex, but he was part of a cycle and not even an all-star of that cycle.)

Nissa.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

Not to my knowledge, no. The only way that would even play well is as either an extreme eco ecoterrorist (one of the four Archenemy themes) or maybe a strict "survival of the fittest" type, although the latter has already been brushed up against by Momir Vig.

If they weren't colorless by definition I could see the Eldrazi fitting into green, as they're both huge and only following their natural urges.
important to remember that green is also the colour of social conservatism and tradition
green is the colour that would back up dodgy science about the superiority of certain races or sexualities or genders :bigfrown:
sentient green villains as a result wind up usually being white/blue villains, but more uncomfortable
Yeah they tried that with Lorwyn elves and the original incarnation of Nissa. The former was nuked from orbit within the natural story of the block, and the latter has been retconned out of existence when they made her an elementalist instead.

Problem there is real evil requires intent and all the unpleasant parts of green are lacking intent by definiton.

Green's "evil" philosophy is probably actually nihilism, and I don't really know how you'd portray that in MtG.

We could think in the point of view of a UB would-be-protagonist against a green big Bad, but that's just as hard.
A Men-in-Black type bunch of ragtag crew against a hivemind, I guess?

I think Nissa and the Llorwyn Elves are sorta close, but they touch on other colors and Nissa was retconned.
Some sort of super predator or utterly inhospitable world might work. Garruk could fit into that asshole super predator role and drop the black pretty believably.

I'm really trying to come up with true mono-green villains... maybe like, the Floronic Man from early Swamp Thing? But he was ultimately working against the natural order out of selfishness, so maybe more black using green methods. Poison Ivy? She's closer but I'd say still some black or red for how she manipulates people.
Some kind of hivemind sounds about as close as you can get, one that isn't necessarily malicious but becomes too powerful via its own evolution/adaptation capabilities. The Zerg, maybe, separate from Kerrigan.
Im still playing monoU but my friends are trying to convince me I have a terrible monored match up. The problem? Im about to hit mythic and haven’t lost to monored once.

Magic already has a dangerous hivemind entity, but Slivers are portrayed as all five colors so they don't suck mechanically.
Poison Ivy would be the closest I think. She could totally pilot the "Trample Civilization Underfoot" Archenemy deck (which was GW for the purposes of evening out the release although that's basically the recruiting slogan for the Gruul).
I think Im seeing a funny tendency for green villains. One of greens attributes is that it adapts and sees a place for all colors so I think a green villain is naturally going to break out of green(or not technically be green) because its not going to see the point in limiting its growth. Slivers are inherently green but that causes them to grab the abilities of everyone else.
I think trying to make a villain out of green requires cutting into the color identity too much but you could do something cool like a grey goo growth spell that got way out of control.
I haven't played any standard this set but I just went to a 5k and (sadly) lost my top 8 win and in with the phoenix deck, but this format felt like a ton of fun.
There's a lot of big threat cards out there right now, some of which are pretty hard to deal with but overall standard is good. Better than Amonket for sure.

The only real groan card for me in Standard right now is T3feri, but even that is more of a groan about shutting off deck/card viability than how it actually plays 80% of the time.

Yeah, Threeferi is kind of format-defining. It's been multiple times that I was slowly winning by continuing to drop threats and managing to protect them for a turn or two from the constant onslaught of removal, and then suddenly threeferi comes out and I have lost. Things like dive down become suddenly pretty unworkable when basically every deck that can swing it is splashing white for him, so I've been looking at how to keep my creatures alive long enough to actually attack in a format where there is just all the target removal.

Garruk would make a decent villain. He's not pure green but it's enough.
I had a guy charge it in two turns
I'm still loving command the dreadhorde even if I didn't do as hot last night as I did the week prior

Wow same, I full on thought it was an enchantment and it seemed awesome. Still pretty strong if it sticks around, but that's a much bigger if.
