Ok I was going by the printoff in the box {I got a very roughed up tyrant it was missing the basic legs and the wing was chipped} also both heads were missing so I have an idea about that fix that since I am working on my hive tyrant just that's a scary conversation as I only have one of a certain part
My opponents list is pretty standard. 60 guard bodies, a wyvern, 3 tank commanders decked out, 3 mortar squads, some tempestus scion command squads, primaris psyker, armored sentinels, and a valk. Plasma scions+tempestus go into the valk for a drop. All cadian except the scions who are in their battalion.
His rolls tonight were on fire. Both of us just stared agape at it. And mine were the inverse. He killed a cultist squad with mortars turn 1 and also a maulerfiend and the heldrake. A few stray wounds from two discordants.
Turn one I move up. With my luck I had the following happen:
-Failed 3 of my 5 psychic powers with the one I did get off with a cast of a 9 he was able to deny with a 10 off of a 1 in 6 chance reroll. Ended up costing me a discordant without it doing anything.
-And with more of an insult my sorc with that and the 5+ fnp spell had 1 wound due to a vindcare. Trying to cast the FNP I roll double 1 with no reroll to use. He of course explodes and damages everything
I have to deal with the scions and the valk in the mid. Rather easy. I was able to charge them with my stuff out of LoS so not overwatch. The rest of the game is me dancing between fights the best I can while getting as many points as I can.
In the end I lost 28-19 with a few mistakes. But it was nuts sometimes. 16 out of 18 shots from mortars. Max shots from the wyverns. 11+ shots over and over from battle cannons. Both of us stared in shock as he hit 10 of 11 hits on a 4+ before rerolls.
Also the relic of lost Cadia is still bullshit.

From my list I am thinking of maybe dropping the cultist and seeing what I can do with the points. 150-160 points is kind of a mess for Chaos. I am thinking havocs just to get some temporary fire power.
I want some damn info on the knights. I am thinking a midrange shooting knights might fill a hole in this list. And I am deciding that the 30 cultist bodies aren't worth it. I can probably strain 350 points out of this list.
The Relic of Cadia is such an absurd force multiplier, even against non chaos armies. I’d like to see it and other abilities with more powerful effects against certain army keywords errata’d to not be used in tournament settings.

I took out the magnets on my terminators, kind of not feeling their strength. Not sure if I want to put new ones in. A majority of them were put together by the person I bought most of my Space Wolves from. I have a pretty good selection but I'm trying to round stuff out. I think I might put a few into the freezer so I can change their arms.
I also feel like I'm missing Long Fangs. I thought I had more than 15 missile launchers but I guess I only have those 15, 10 of them are forge world rocket launchers and don't have back packs so that is kind of awkward for putting just regular ones on. I also have 5 plasma cannons, 4 lascannons, and 3 multi meltas. I swear I had 5 multi meltas but I can't find any others any where. Kind of frustrating.

I suspect I'm missing something here but no, they're Prodos Games and I don't know if they sell anything right now, and worse I can't seem to find any of their alien queens on ebay or anywhere either.
Thanks for the heads-up Burnage. I guess I'll be going on a shopping spree in the very near future. This coming weekend, I'm going to my brother's friends' group and demoing how to assemble & paint. Brother and his best-friend have both entered the hobby with Grey Knights and Craftworld Eldar respectively, but they're both new/slow painters. Their significant others are also gamers and intrigued by the idea of the hobby, but need some easing-in. Last Christmas I set up bro's GF with a Slaanesh Get Started, but she found the painting to be a bit tough (I mean, what do you expect for your first time with a new skill?). I think contrast paint is going to change her life. Best-friendo's wife likes orcs in most RPGs, so we're going to try a box of Orks and see what happens. She's very artsy in general, and does some professional digital line-work. I picked up some paint to work on Bad Moons for a different friend, but we'll see what color preference she has.
Any good tutorial videos or other tips you guys have for me, especially working with contrast in those colors? General plan is to do most of the prep work ahead of time, saving one arm or something to demo mould-line removal, have 2 models unassembled to demo how to use the plastic glue, then to prime/undercoat those models and a few others, but the rest pre-primed.

The preview for the Chaos Knights really makes me want to get started on my list I wanted to make.
The plan was a knight representing each chaos god and then a dominus that represents the Black Legion. Maybe I can do it in a few months but these Chaos Knights sound really cool.

edit: There seem to be actual new models in the Lieutenant video. Antigrav Primaris Rhino looking tank, Reiver Character, and the Dread looks also different.
So a lot of good I see on the knights stuff. I love the perils strat. I love the daemon power ability. Actually the other one with +1 attack and +1 ap is pretty good when you realize the feet get +3 attacks from it. Seriously the daemon power. I will take a mortal wound on my 24 wound model. I either get +2" move with a +1 to advance and charge, become T9, or do more damage and have more strength on my weapons. That is good stuff.
I know there was a person or two here that bought and sold armies. Looking for opinions on a ballpark i should throw my orks up for if i were looking to move as a whole army. Heres what i got with a couple pictures of the custom stuff.

Their significant others are also gamers and intrigued by the idea of the hobby, but need some easing-in. Last Christmas I set up bro's GF with a Slaanesh Get Started, but she found the painting to be a bit tough (I mean, what do you expect for your first time with a new skill?). Part of me wants to take the claws off my terminators that have a storm bolter and claw and use a power fist but I also feel like some variety in the squads would be nice.
I think I'm gonna magnetize the 5 terminators I am setting up to be wolf guard with cyclone missile launcher and storm shield so when I'm not running long fangs I can use them for something else.
I also made the 5th SH/TH wolf guard to round out my squad to 5 with the HQ bits so I hope that doesn't end up being confusing using him in game. Also gonna suck to paint.
I'm considering taking out the magnets and just gluing my tesseract together, it doesn't stay together well as a tesseract and I think it is because of where it connects up in the top corners of the walls. I was thinking of adding magnets to those sections but I'm not sure it is worth the effort now.
I really just don't want to carry around the model because it is so wide.

I mean, you could just put it together in Obelisk mode without needing glue. Other than tournament games I don’t think most people will begrudge you running them as Vaults.
My problem is that many of my falcons and wave serpents did not make it though the years intact [two of the falcons turrets are basically trash :bigfrown: I am missing one of the wave arms for the wave serpent} Just storing them and my jet bikes are a problem as I got the crusade case for this and figured out quickly it does not work.
In time I found out forgeworld did a kit that I feel would help me fix the turrets I know it's long out of print and now in the dark world of recasters and others
Don't feel bad about buying recasts of things Forge World no longer manufactures.
Speaking of replacement bits, has anyone here ordered anything from the Blood and Skulls person on Ebay? I've sort of stumbled into picking up a bunch of old mk1 Rhino based vehicles for my Space Marine chapter lately, and some of them need side exhaust pipes. They sell a four pack of them but I'm worried that they will look different compared to the ones I already have (it looks like they're scaled a little bigger for use on mk3 conversions instead of original mk1 models).
Convert one of them into a Warboss on a bike, then run him with three 12-man Warbiker squads and presto, you've got 37 bikes on the board in a legal Outrider detachment at less than 1,000 points.
I have six Ork bikes right now from Speed Freeks, I kind of want to buy 31 more and run this list just to see the look on my opponent's face.

So I got the tesseract vault to be decently stable without adding any other magnets. As long as I don't shake it a ton or put it down to roughly it should be fine. Gonna think about it some more before I decide to add magnets to the connecting point where the main cable from the center connects to the walls or remove the magnets and just glue it together as the vault.
I do like the look of the vault so I want to be able to run it that way.

A real problem is my brother and I played Nercomunda. He used his old Van Saar gang because he wants another of the new ones {I gave him one.} So he can get the look he wants with them and the forgeworld stuff
I have been using my escher gang of old as well since I really have no idea how I want to build the ones in the box I even have two copies of the game because one of them was a steal
I feel it's the array of choices I get now that is stopping me as it used to be a real lack of them

You need to clean your keyboard. Dirt is one thing, but a literal infestation of (space) bugs is a bridge too far.
Having puttered around with bits and pieces of various Imperium factions, they've never really stuck.
I finally pulled the trigger and sold or traded pretty much all of it away... with the whispers of the dark gods calling I split a Shadowspear box with a friend, grabbed Wrath and Rapture, and swapped a guy some deathwatch for a SC Khorne box.
Fast forward to a set of graveyards at work and I've built nearly 2k points of Chaos/Daemons. Got a match lined up for next week and I'm super excited to play and expand this army.

edit: There seem to be actual new models in the Lieutenant video. Antigrav Primaris Rhino looking tank, Reiver Character, and the Dread looks also different.

I think I'm gonna magnetize the 5 terminators I am setting up to be wolf guard with cyclone missile launcher and storm shield so when I'm not running long fangs I can use them for something else.
I also made the 5th SH/TH wolf guard to round out my squad to 5 with the HQ bits so I hope that doesn't end up being confusing using him in game. Also gonna suck to paint.
I'm considering taking out the magnets and just gluing my tesseract together, it doesn't stay together well as a tesseract and I think it is because of where it connects up in the top corners of the walls. I was thinking of adding magnets to those sections but I'm not sure it is worth the effort now.
I really just don't want to carry around the model because it is so wide.

In time I found out forgeworld did a kit that I feel would help me fix the turrets I know it's long out of print and now in the dark world of recasters and others
Speaking of replacement bits, has anyone here ordered anything from the Blood and Skulls person on Ebay? I've sort of stumbled into picking up a bunch of old mk1 Rhino based vehicles for my Space Marine chapter lately, and some of them need side exhaust pipes. They sell a four pack of them but I'm worried that they will look different compared to the ones I already have (it looks like they're scaled a little bigger for use on mk3 conversions instead of original mk1 models).

A real problem is my brother and I played Nercomunda. He used his old Van Saar gang because he wants another of the new ones {I gave him one.} So he can get the look he wants with them and the forgeworld stuff
I have been using my escher gang of old as well since I really have no idea how I want to build the ones in the box I even have two copies of the game because one of them was a steal
I feel it's the array of choices I get now that is stopping me as it used to be a real lack of them
I have the delaque gang the new one as I got it for something different yet I am still stuck in the mental wheel

You need to clean your keyboard. Dirt is one thing, but a literal infestation of (space) bugs is a bridge too far.
I finally pulled the trigger and sold or traded pretty much all of it away... with the whispers of the dark gods calling I split a Shadowspear box with a friend, grabbed Wrath and Rapture, and swapped a guy some deathwatch for a SC Khorne box.
Fast forward to a set of graveyards at work and I've built nearly 2k points of Chaos/Daemons. Got a match lined up for next week and I'm super excited to play and expand this army.
