    Is that an...orange watermelon?

I've heard of yellow watermelons, I guess this is a hybrid of normal + yellow?!

A local farm does orange and yellow (the smaller one in the first photo) and she's been excited to try them. I don't know anything about how they're growth though.

Thanks dude. I was the helpful one in that story, but love is having each other’s back. It’s a lot like being a pair of freelance detectives or swashbuckling musketeers in that sense. Yes, this is the description of relationships I’m going with.

I really should just give up on online dating it's gotten me no where but a miserable place

You have had the most bizarre experiences I've heard of on dating platforms, my dude

Are these all happening on different apps/sites? Or is there one that is particularly off the rails

I'm just finally glad someone else is having bizarre interactions with people so I'm not alone anymore in my crazy tales of my day to day.

not a doctor, not a lawyer, examples I use may not be fully researched so don't take out of context plz, don't @ me

I’m surprised that the percentage meeting at a bar or restaurant has also gone up!

The decline in "3rd spaces" as a regular part of life has left us with basically bars and that's it.

True. While the public library is a valuable third space in many ways, it is a wretched place to meet future romantic partners.

What were common 3rd spaces in the past? I'm not sure I fully understand the term beyond a very broad "not home and not a workplace" and there must be some additional quality

People used to join clubs more often. Like, yacht clubs and country clubs are the ones everyone assumes, but they tend to be more economically gated. But there used to be rotary clubs, booster clubs, elks club, moose lodge etc.

Sure a lot of these are just private bars in practice, but it's something.

I have around 300+ likes part of me feels like it's from bots or dead accounts
I learned a lesson about paying for dating sites as they pushed for more on one and Match was just awkward
I know it's bots that message me on PoF as I burned my account down when they wanted me to pay to message someone

Knowing who likes you seemed redundant to me if you like everyone you'd actually want to talk to anyway.

I feel it was a nice but poorly thought out attempt at expressing interest from people not in your area

I don't see a point in paying for something like this considering even people who "like" you are not likely to send you messages/respond in the first place.

I paid for OKCupud two or three times. While it didn’t really help when I finally matched with someone I started a relationship with, it did feel pretty good to sort through who actually had liked me, especially after the new changes to their system. I definitely felt better seeing more information, and was able to strike up a few conversations I might not have otherwise.

But I wouldn’t pay for it more than twice a year.

As I recall, it mostly consists of really overthinking your handshake technique during the Peace Be With You bit if you're sitting in a pew near the cute girl.

I'd imagine theres a lot of asking their father to allow them to court their daughter and then handing her a cotton rose and a sweet candy before dancing away giggling behind a handkerchief.

I... haven't been to church in a while.

Church dating is usually one of three things, depending on your congregation:

    - entirely unremarkable and sweet
    - brutally and horrifically awkward
    - a non-euclidean escape room of emotional, moral and social expectations

Direct unflinching eye contact. Two firm up-and-down pumps like I'm finalizing a boat purchase. Flop sweat.

I...did not end up dating many girls from church.
