I always liked Reno decks. Warlock in particular seems like it's always been a community favorite, people are still playing it even though there's better ways to go for control.
Highlander is just worn ground for them and honestly looking back, it wasn’t really that interesting the first time around.
as a spectator i think strong highlander options are good for the game because they promote more interesting, less repetitive games. i like playing that way too, and i've even been thinking about going back to wild with a reno kaz priest. honestly for relatively casual, novelty-driven players like me it's diverse decks and gameplay through that mechanic, or diverse decks and gameplay through more RNG value (see: ravencaller in a tess rogue)... which is less ideal.
Reno was released at a time when agro decks seemed a lot more powerful. Reno was good because he helped control decks have a better chance. He was bad because he did it in a non interactive way and games too often came down to if the control deck could play Reno on six it won, if not it lost which is boring.
Highlander cards are hilarious in a meta with bomb warrior.
Honestly bomb warrior even existing in a meta where they are trying to push highlander just seems to completely lack any forethought on team 5's part unless they change multiple bombs to not break the highlander conditional
Why is Sir Finley raising mummies? Why is paladin getting an ability about necromancy?
Both flavor and mechanics make more sense as a Priest card. A big part of reborn being better than deathrattle is it combos with reanimation effects more strongly.
The Elise mill combo that reddit cooked up is interesting looking. It's still combo Druid so it'll probably be like T3 at best but I'm definitely going to try it. I thought Mecha'thun would be a fun meme too but it turned out to be great.
Prep: Draw Elise, the Enlightened, Flobbidinous Floop, Twig of the World Tree, Naturalize, and enough other cards to remove all your duplicates. Get the latter 3 cards on the left of your hand and your hand size to at most 7.
Setup Turn: Play Elise then play the right-most Twig (right-most to control card location in hand and hand size for card generation). Your hand is now 2 Flooped Elises, a Twig, and 2 Naturalizes.
Kill Turn: Play your right-most Naturalize on an enemy minion or Elise, then play your right-most Flooped Elise. Your hand is now 2 Floops, 2 Twigs, and 2 Naturalizes. Play your right-most Twig to refresh your mana and hand state to start of turn. Repeat to mill 2 cards per cycle, 30-40 per turn. This also clears the enemy board and fills your board with 3/4s.
If you hit the turn timer you can continue on your next turn with no issues because your hand state is identical. Weapon destruction forces you to repeat the setup turn but does not brick it. Dirty Rat and Hecklebot can brick it, but it's more resilient than Mecha'thun is and no less resilient than Togwaggle or Malygos are.

seems like it would be difficult to set up that hand texture while also not dying given modern druid not having great stall/removal, wild growth/nourish getting nerfed to hell, and spreading plague/ui no longer existing
yknow if anything's gonna hold back highlander decks it'll be bomb warrior not the cards themselves
hope you enjoy slamming The Reason You Built This Deck only for nothing to actually happen

needs to be a gentlemans agreement to not plague ladder with fun-denying bomb warrior for the first few weeks
like at that point you would be actively spiteful to queue as bomb warrior knowing you are going to be completely torpedoing the viability of most of the new archetypes you face

What's that, hit Legend rank for free in the first week of the new expansion? Got it.

In a perfect world bomb warriors would be hardcoded to only queue into a mirror match.
Man, a 6-mana 6/9 stat line is pushing it hard for playability. A few years ago, this would have been a 4/6 for the same cost. Oh how the power creep times have changed.

hearthstone will really never do a tri-class card
He's prob better now with the new sets and less healing / bs options, also such few cards with charge.

The murloc charge adds a nice big "UMPH!" that it was missing.

Time to dust off discard lock and lose horribly for weeks. Might be legit aggro card to get 2 leeroys or sea giants. Will improve disco lock in wild.
Edit: also, this can give you 2 quest rewards in wild quest disco lock, giving you 4 3/2 imps for free each turn. It will be terrible.
Oh god..
but... I already dusted it off!
-_-'
but yeah, I tried SUPER hard to make quest disco lock work.
After 3 months of literal self flagellation I just.... I just can't anymore
even if this card seems nice at 1 health making it easy to kill... and no one wants to use a silence on such a small minion

e: wait it involves twig so it's wild, never mind
It's def a win-more one, ya?
You can't use it if you have no board, etc. etc.
Not game-winning by any means, especially since the mana to stats is neutral.

I must've missed it.
Does this mean you just have to end turns with unspent mana?
I don't know why I wasn't reading correctly in my brain but yeah.... hmmm...
