I sculpted a Roman bust self-portrait a while back.
I keep thinking about getting ZBrush, but then I don't, because Blender is free and what am I made of money? No.

I recommend looking at the "planar analysis" art technique. It's good for visualizing things as low poly forms, and figuring out the best way to keep the shape recognizable with as few straight planes as necessary.

I've been using Fusion360 because it's free and has a pretty robust help/instruction videos behind it. Will post some stuff later. Haven't done much in way of my own models besides basic boxes.

Blender 2.8 came out! It's good!
Here's a fun toy I've been fiddling around with. Modeled in Blender and textured in Substance Painter.
Octane has a free version of their renderer available for Blender, which I've been playing around with here. The lighting here is all HDRI because I'm lazy and @tynic would probably be skating in the late afternoon at a beach, anyway!

There are a lot of post-processing options with Octane's camera that I should probably figure out to make things pop.

Fusion 360 is my JAM. I used an Illustrator => VCarve workflow for CNC routing before trying Fusion, and god damn is it better. The integrated CAM stuff is seriously amazing. I also do a lot of 3D printing using the STL export.

It's a sun dial / stringed musical instrument, where the 24 hours of the day correspond to two octaves!
