I've been slowly chipping away at Crysis over the last months, because I never played it

I got to the zero grav section and it's giving me a headache, I might not be able to continue playing if that part goes on too much longer

Did CK2 implement seasonal changes to income? It's been a while, can't recall.

Part of your income is based on how much your vassals like you. So if a friendly baron dies and his son hates you, it can dip.

I spent the better part of two years wooing a Steward from another duchy. I caroused with him, I bribed him, I offered him one of my courtiers in marriage. He agreed and arrived at court and I appointed him to my council.

And then a mob immediately killed him when I sent him to collect taxes.

Who'd've thought that the people of the Theme of Hellas would be so proud and uppity?

The silk road has dynamic flow so the income you get from trade posts can change

Tax income does change depending on stewardship and prosperity but not to the same extent

There is this page in the ledger which has a tax breakdown

That's the section that got me to stop playing Crysis years ago. It's a garbage part of a pretty good game.

Crysis: what if we dropped those open ended sections for boring linear sections like we did with FarCry to piss everybody off?

One of playthroughs of CK2 I started out as the count somewhere in eastern France, and after a few generations, managed to upgrade to duke.

Proud of myself, I looked around at my relatives, and found out a cadet branch had somehow become kings/queens of Poland, and had been expanding at a quick rate.

    That hurt the ego.

Anyway to actually answer the original question, the zero-g section in Crysis is not that long, no.

Yeah it's bad but like... maybe 20 minutes long?

And the exodus level after it is probably my second-favorite one in Crysis, after Onslaught

Indie Smash-Bros-a-like Slap City is getting a SSB Brawl-style story mode soon. It's a pretty rad game if you like platform fighters, and it's 75% off right now: https://store.steampowered.com/app/725480/Slap_City/

Gears 5 has a cool map editor built-in for the cooperative Left-4-Dead-adjacent Escape mode. It's building blocks you snap together, so anyone can do it without any outside tools or anything. Would prefer a Hale Forge-style system but this could be cool too.

Yeah, it's not great, although I like the look and feel of that area, as generic-looking as it is. Then again, the entire game feels a bit old, naturally. It's 2019 and I'm playing a 2007(?) shooter, so. I like the idea of the suit, especially stealthily taking out camps and patrols, but the mechanics don't quite deliver on that front, unless you like it being tedious. It still looks really nice though

I stopped playing Far Cry 3 after many hours because I hit a particularly bad escort mission and I ain't never going back to it.

That's okay, the second half of the game is way less fun than the first half.

Except for the wingsuit. There are mods that give it to you way earlier, though.

    https://www.pcgamer.com/all-steam-workshop-items-now-require-valve-approval/
Mod submissions to the Steam Workshop now require Valve approval before they go live. The change, spotted this weekend by a user on the CS:GO subreddit, applies to new worskhop mods and updates to existing items, and Valve says the approval process should take "less than a day".

Submissions to the Workshop will have to go through a two-step moderation process: first, new items must be verified by email to make sure they're genuine. The email will arrive at the the address associated with your Steam account within half an hour. Second, new submissions will go into a moderation queue, awaiting Valve approval.
Valve didn't provide a reason for the change but, as noted on the CS:GO subreddit, the Workshop has been home to spam and scam items for a while now. For CS:GO, these items usually promised free keys in exchange for downloading, and scam accounts would often downvote legitimate maps to promote their own submissions, as outlined in this video.

It should help make the Workshop less crowded, and provided Valve is as quick as it say it will be, it shouldn't cause much hassle for creators.
They just had to tie CS:GO monetization to the Steam Workshop.

I wonder if they will deal with the huge number of racist and outright pro-Nazi mods available on the Workshop.

So what about mods that use/recreate characters like, say, Mario and Link? Surely Valve wouldn't want to "approve" those? Depending on how they handle it, the workshop becomes an even less interesting platform (it's already not great if you're modding a Bethesda game)

I'm sure whatever poor souls they chain to a shared table full of laptops to click through the queue of new mod submissions will be well versed in Fair Use doctrine.

I'm sure they'll also have no trouble interpreting Valve's crystal clear guidelines, and will get to deal with interesting, novel problems like,

"what does our TOS say about realistic horse vaginas?"

"the character in this porno could be Goofy, but is it legally distinct from Goofy?"

"how can I watch this much ultraviolence and not lose my mind?"

I don't think the spam has anything to do with the Workshop being monetized. Top items are shown in the Steam library, so it's more effective to get your spam there than to friend request and message individual Steam users.

The support page about this specifically says it's to prevent scams. I don't think they're going to reject any items that weren't already getting deleted from the Workshop.

Isn't Skyrim the only Bethesda game with Workshop support? What's wrong with it?
