Grrl Power definitely seems to have the mystery box problem where like a ton of the comic is dedicated to setting up a billion different characters and plotlines it will never pay off.

I'm horrified about REDACTED but mildly curious how the D&D porn works. Like ... is just Elminster and Drizzt fucking? Do people submit their characters in for porno art? Is it just regular porn with, like, elf ears and chainmail bikinis? Is it monsters, like a beholder and a gelatinous cube getting it on?

It's whatever you want it to be, baby.

Did you know paying off debt makes your credit score go DOWN? Found that one out the hard way.

It closes the account which can impact the length of credit history and screw around with some of the other stuff they measure. It's kinda stupid.

Eternal debt is seen as a good thing (so long as you are eternally paying it off).

If I'm understanding correctly, that's only true if you actually close the account. If you keep the line of credit open (but don't use it) it doesn't have a negative impact on your credit score/history, even if the balance is at 0.

So, paying off your car loan could have a negative impact since that closes that account out, reducing the total amount of potential credit you have to your score.
Paying off a credit card, then keeping the account open and unused, will boost your score by extending your credit life and increasing your maximum credit.

But, that's if I'm understanding correctly, and I don't like my odds on that one.

To clarify, I believe this is just true for closed-end credit like loans. When I paid off my student loan, my FICO did temporarily go down for a few months (partly due to it being the oldest account, partly due to no longer having what the bureaus consider a good mix of credit), but it has since gone back up.

For open-end credit like credit cards, it's not a great idea to revolve any amount of debt. Just pay off your statement balance each month and keep your utilization low and you'll be good.

Oh yeah, I should have specified that my post was assuming someone has the privilege of paying off the statement balance each month.

Sadly, that is not always the case!

yeah, credit score reflects how valuable you are to credit and loan sellers, rather than how fiscally responsible you are, so the highest rating is "makes minimum payments reliably while floating as large a balance as possible in perpetuity, so you the credit/loan holder get to extract the maximum money from them without their defaulting or reducing their interest payments"

I believe that is correct, yes. It's paying off loans that negatively affects your credit, since it theoretically reduces the amount of credit available to you. Of course, since it was a loan, that credit was not available to you anyway, so it's still dumb.

Hey, beholders don't "get it on."

They make sweet, tender, generous love.

Actually when they dream about Beholders it has a chance of creating another Beholder or Beholderkin in the real world.

Credit Scores are bullshit invented by thieves and fraudsters and ought to be regulated or banned commensurately
