There's a guy in 7th Stand User who has a stand named [CHICKEN SHACK].

This game's alright. Way old school grindy though. It's always amazing though to see one person make a fan game of this kind of scale though. (and a lady to boot!)

all 3 Diamond is Unbreakable openings are perfect and also Diamond is Unbreakable is perfect

the thing about it is, is it's very good, is the thing

Morioh is such a lovably built setting, the cast is huge and extremely memorable, it's actually written for everything to stack on top of each other and actually build to something rather than a series of disposable one-off episodes, Kira is a series-best villain with a ton of thematic depth, Josuke is an eminently likable protagonist, it all just looks unbelievable with a terrific color palette so it's just a treat to watch at every moment

the main reason I want to read through to part 8 is hearing that Jojolion is a remixed version of part 4 set in the new universe's version of Morioh

If I was gonna complain about anything in diu it's that chili pepper feels like a bit of a culdesac

Like the early parts feel like they're building up to him being a big deal and then eh they beat him anyway let's move on to the real villain

Which, it's all still good so it's minor quibble but it feels a little clunky at the big picture level

  • Mr. GMr. G Registered User regular
If I had my druthers I would want a light redo that tightens up the plotting and has Kira from the start

It seems pretty clear that that was only come up with partway through so upon going back it's weird that the first third of the entire arc has nothing to do with what you remember as the plot

the anime does it a little better by having a handful of Kira tease scenes in there, but they're basically unrelated

    Nope

    He rocks though

Ultimately tight plotting isn't what you come to Jojo for

Which is probably why jojolion falls a little flat for me, it's a genre that kinda works better with tighter plotting

Is Kakyoin the crusader with the highest rate of straight-up failures? Like granted the results are a bit skewed because SO MANY episodes are about Polnareff, but man, Kakyoin feeds a baby poop and I'm struggling to think of episodes where he straight-up saves everyone.*

*Okay look I know Jotaro usually just saves everyone anyway, but still

Kaykoin does eventually trap the Tower on the plane and is the dude that figures out Death 13s whole deal.

And he dies so that the team can figure out the World’s trick.

Kakyoin also just fucking vanishes for half the story.

Kakyoin also figures out Hanged Man. And his repeated failures to shoot Tower of Grey were to maneuver it such that they could get it.

His biggest failures were vs Jotaro, vs N’doul, and vs D’arby the gamer. Most of his other encounters at least did something.

But as for Emerald Splash, I don’t think it ever landed a direct hit after the fight with Jotaro.

Hermit Purple could create psychic images via a TV display, and RHCP could travel through electric wiring and use the phone, so I’d say it’s likely that a stand could use the internet to do stuff.

I also like that Avdol is all “pick a card and we will name your stand off that”

    When

A: every other major arcana has a stand named after them
    And
B: the majority of a tarot deck is not the major arcana

I just imagine in an alternate universe Jotaro draws like, the tower and Avdol goes “shit, not that one, draw again” and then draws like, the three of cups.
