I think that it's fun. Also that siege damage once it gets up to speed.

- Q damage nerfed but hitting center hits now gives a free pulse of your Trait
- Phase Shift (Z) now heals target for 20% health baseline
- Trait now has an activatable (D) that removes all CC from allies, but does not grant Unstoppable. It's Cleanse minus Unstoppable, basically.
- Emerald Wind doesn't give bonus passive healing anymore.
The rest you'll have to look at the talents for, but that's basically it. Bee-Dubs real good though.

The game isn’t dead, a lot of people still play it and there was a new hero released last month.
Some people like being pessimistic though.
The biggest change was the move speed patch which made everyone move 10% faster than before.

It's fine. There is still new content being added to the game, just not at the breakneck pace we saw earlier.
If you're having fun playing, then continue playing. If you're not, then don't.
If I'm being honest, the "ded gaem" thing is really fucking annoying because in terms of population, the vast majority of players exclusively stick to Quick Match. Frankly, that game mode was never balanced and had massive matchmaking issues the entire time, so the only thing that is impacting those players is the slower release of new content and features.
The game's fine overall. QM is as bad as it's always been; no real change there. The lower population has only really affected queue times in unranked and ranked modes. It's not uncommon to wait 10 minutes for a match there.

Yeah. QM is essentially a brawl mode at this point, given how quickly the game gives up trying to find healers/tanks. It's harder to find a game in QM if you actually try to balance your team. Just queue as five DPS and BAM! Instant game.

I don't like people badmouthing QM because i have a doctor's note that says i can't play ranked.
Anyway, playing 3 games of HOTS today after a year of not playing was like buying a whiskey bottle as a recovering alcoholic.
And like some people drinking, i don't play alone...
All of that sounds great, but as a point of fact, I never play QM and always draft. What should I know about draft? what are super broken heroes, etc?
EDIT: also, i'm drinking right now, but it's really pregaming for a later social event, so that's okay, right?
right?
EDIT2: I was drinking (drunk?) when reading your comment, smoothing right over that middle part, and now I feel kinda awkward? If you're recovering, I hope things are going well for you.

gosh-y-golly-gee-willickers.

I love how all his abilities are wonky in some way. I bet he's real fun with a good group that's high on CC.

I love how all his abilities are wonky in some way. I bet he's real fun with a good group that's high on CC.
I have two really good mephisto builds if you want some advice
I would love builds and write-ups!!
Build 1: Skull Missle
Level 1: Q upgrade
4: Heal on Q
7: Armor on E
10: Durance
13: Spell power on Q
16: Explosion when Q hits your W
20: Upgrade to Durance
This is the standard build, and it scales pretty well. But a LOT of the damage output in endgame will come from being able to get multiple explosions off your Q -> W. You set up your W and then launch a Q at the enemy, then E towards them so the Q will pass through another layer of W. Generally, wait for your tank to setup with a stun then followup with your durance. Q is incredible telegraphed so it can be hard to hit people raw, but you need to get about 40 stacks by level 10 to make this build work.
Build 2, my favorite, spell power:
1: Spell power
4: Make Regen Globes trigger your trait and last longer
7: move speed
10: consume souls
13: AoE Auto Attack that lowers the CD on your abilities
16: % damage on W
20: upgrade to consume souls
The idea here is that most of your damage comes from Eing toward people and then hitting with your W, then when you are about to get sent back to activate your ult and kill the enemy. Your Q is mainly used to slow people down and to get your E->W on a lower CD. You take the move speed so you can chase people down, get used to throwing out an AA or two to get value from the 13 as you go in. With the globe talent you have near infinite mana and MUCH lower CDs on your moves. The key in this build is to just maximize your W uptime on people, getting to max stacks of its damage and just do a crapton of damage. I find that post 16 this build absolutely DESTROYS people as that sudden 10% loss of HP makes people wilt. And post 20 it's practically GG if you get one kill off your upgraded ult. Not many teams can handle two consume souls coming at them back to back.

piggybacking in with my own 2 cents,
i don't think level 7 and 10 are locked in stone. you pick what you need at 7, you pick what you need at 10. caveat: i never take the slow on level 7, it's very wonky to utilize effectively. so i either take movespeed or armor, i take the armor if i'm getting hard dived otherwise i take the movespeed
at level 10 it comes down to if the enemy team has multiple melee and if your team can capitalize on the root. durance can be a very effective anti-dive tool on like a butcher or something, but i'd strongly hesitate to say you should just pick it all the time always. in general you should pick consume souls unless you specifically have a reason for durance. consume souls wins teamfights on the spot.
in general i'm not a fan of builds that say "pick x, y, z the end." there's always a rhyme and reason why you pick things, and sometimes you do or don't want to pick things. in general you should never feel hard-locked into a build path unless you're simply grabbing the synergy talents for Q/W/E etc.
my own personal build thoughts, i'm honestly not a huge fan of Spite at 4 or Shard of Hate at 13. i've toyed around with both, Spite feels too conditional and Shard of Hate requires that you're in AA range (and if you're AAing as Meph........)
personally i have two builds: Q build or... i guess the other build doesn't really have a name. "other build", lol.
anyway, my Q build is pretty much the same (Q at 1 and 4) but free choice at 7, consume souls at 10 unless you need durance, Hysteria OR Abhorred Skull at 13 (both very powerful; if you absolutely 100% need your Ult to be up every fight, grab Hysteria. if you feel okay without that, Abhorred Skull. again, not a fan of Shard of Hate, but i'll let you be the judge of that yourself, right), Q at 16, Consume upgrade at 20. if you took Durance, the Durance upgrade is strong, Mimic is also really strong. they're both good. not a fan of Shade Lord!
the other build is spellpower at 1, static barrier, w/e at 7, consume souls, Hysteria OR Abhorred, whatever you want at 16 (try out Animosity even! it's actually incredibly strong, but takes some getting used to and you have to approach using it very differently. keep in mind that popping the active will delay the shielding you get from static barrier), same level 20s. Mimic is a really strong level 20 honestly, especially with Animosity, but it's very hard to pass up on the Consume upgrade. i generally only take Mimic if we're against a team that just isn't ever getting low enough for Consume to work.
if i feel like i'm in a game where i'm just not gonna be able to consistently stack Q, i go the other build for general value.
again, though, try everything out for yourself. you're not hardlocked into anything.

The level seven is not locked in stone, it is the most variable part of the build. But for those two builds, I find those particular picks to be the most valuable in 90% of cases.
EDIT: And the regen globe talent just got a big buff, the regen you get from that keeps you at full mana constantly and helps a ton with keeping your CDs low. And the healing is nothing to sneeze at!
EDIT2: And the reason why I don't play Q more is because of how mandatory getting value from Q explosions on W are for the build. And I find I absolutely cannot get the best value from my W if I am playing with a Q build mindset for whatever reason.

Qhira really is the poster child for "a good player is a game breaking force of nature but a bad player means your team is 4v5 8 seconds after every fight starts"
I've yet to see a middle ground.

Played against an enemy team that had Qhira and KTZ; ie 20 minutes of one-sided no fun beatings. Seriously, the KTZ was dropping ults all over the board non-stop for a good 30 seconds at one point. And Qhira is still overtuned.
