I think it likely that they just made the new easy mode Toadette-specific, and didn’t think of anything past the crown as a gameplay mechanic, and demonstrated it as such. I figure the answer to “what happens if [x] wears the crown” would be “only Toadette can wear the crown”, whoever [x] is, man or woman. I doubt they have ever seen that original fan comic, or have heard people asking what the crown means for Peach herself. This is Nintendo, after all; their inability to perceive the internet is second to none.

They have absolutely seen bowsette, and their Luigi comic/explanation they put out, while maybe not a DIRECT response to it, was absolutely intended to be "men cannot use this item"
Nintendo has made transphobic jokes in many of their games including one that came out literally two years ago
Nintendo IS aware of fans desires and headcanon for their characters, they play with those things all the time. They're also one of the most openly homophobic and transphobic game publishers around, and I REALLY wish people would stop excusing their behavior on that front

I'm charging my 3DS so I can play Ghost Trick and it's got this thing where it won't charge unless I set it so there's enough pressure to pull the cable to one side while it's in the plug; don't know if that's a problem in the cable or the charging port
Either way I'm a little worried because I know eventually it won't charge at all
....I shouldn't get a 2DS XL to replace this now when Ghost Trick is almost certainly the last game on this system line I want to play, right

If it's any consolation, I looked at all the available save slots and went "Huh, I think they added more, that's good... but is it enough?" Now that I've got the last Six Samurai and Noble Knight cards I really needed I'm going to diversify, but I'm tossing up whether to focus on another archetype or just spread my points around and see what miscellaneous cards I get.

Also I guess never pick the big bounty balloons, because there was one that was embedded in the level geometry and completely unreachable

I think there are probably enough 3DS of different varieties out in the wild that the hardware will continue to get cheaper for a while. Dont see them suddenly becoming hard to find.
Eventually that mint green 2DS will be cheap enough that I can justify switching from my blue one.

God this game looks so pretty and gameplay-wise it looks like exactly the step forward they needed
It was all self-set stuff like filling up the museum or collecting bugs or what have you
