Made a little jank deck to try the 2020 standard event.

Eight games later, I have yet to run into literally anything that doesn't seem based off the control scapeshift skeleton. Clearly people realized that Scapeshift doesn't even need the actual scapeshift, just keeping making free dudes while planeswalkers keep giving action advantage is plenty. I think there was exactly one game that didn't start with Arboreal Grazer into Threeferi, and that's because they waited one more turn to drop threeferi!

    Steam ID: Right here.

If you are up to date on XP keep in my mind that you probably don't need to be grinding out the event.

There is still a decent amount of XP left to get normally.

There's certainly too many clicks involved. And like any other event it's all RDW etc I know there's only 5 new cards but aside from not seeing the occasional Settle there was nothing new at all, just the same decks I've been seeing for weeks.

Playing Simic Flash in the standard 2020 event and this deck still slams.

Swapped Tricksters for the new 1/2 flying faerie that gets a counter if you draw a second card, along with radical idea...but only getting one counter kinda sucks and is unreliable, so I swapped those cards for Duelist (to hit cavalcade and some of the mono blue beats) and anticipate to ensure i'm getting cards I need.

Still running 3 Tale's End and I love it every time. Kills their t3 t3feri. Stop the lifegain and draw on krasis. Counters sephara and some land activations.

Spending mana means less held up for counterspells, which is a big downside.

That's why I said extra mana. Mana beyond what you need for your counters. There are many times in that deck you have an amount of mana not equal to exactly the counters you have in hand.

It is generally good practice to hold up more mana than you need to prevent your opponent from knowing exactly what you have and to double counterspell if needed. It will also generally be more efficient to flash in more creatures over pumping the 2/2 earlier, although both are valid decisions. There's also the fact that (in general) if you have Nightpack Ambusher out, the opponent is on a 2 turn clock regardless of how pumped the elf is.

Yea I just mean stuff like:

You have 1 negate, 1 essence scatter, 1 counter naga and 5 mana. That last mana never has a use.

You have 6 mana and 2 2 cost counter spells and 1 3 cost counter spell, that last mana is never used for anything again

And countless other combinations like that.

Plus any game that drags out to the point you have a giant pile of mana and 2 cards in your hand. There are no mind games to be played there with leaving stuff open.

These are board states I see fairly frequently.

I understand what you are saying. My point is that paying mana in a way that lets your opponent know exactly what is optimal for you, counterspell-wise, is almost never going to be worth it in a situation in which you have 9 power on board minimum and a guaranteed 12 power on board the next turn. Your opponent is dead in two turns at that point almost regardless. It might be worth buffing if it gets you exactsies in one turn or if you strongly suspect big Chandra is coming down, but that's pretty narrow and in most cases it's overdeveloping your board.

The bigger and more important thing for with that guy for me though is that I wanna make a golgari(abzan?) wolf deck and he seems like a decent 2 drop in there to make use of both Garruk wolves and Nightpack wolves for activation.

Yo that red spell's a beast in limited. If you're able to decently curve out and then on turn 4 or 5 play that, crack through for a bunch, AND develop your board with the rest of your mana?

Cloudkin Seer and Guardmage seem way too high CMC for their effect in a fliers deck. You don't need cantrips, you need maximun beatdown and bodies to enable your indestructible 7/7 angel

I can't get mtg a to run at all, its just a tiny square, nothing loads.
I did a clean uninstal, and did my best to deal every mtga file (like, in doucuments, user folders like roaming, etc.).
    Did a clean install.
    And it still don't run.

And the mtga support forums has nothing on how to fix it.

Anyone have any idea how to fix it or have experienced this problem?

Uuuuugh. Yeah, clearly out of every possible planeswalker, the one who needs a full set spotlight the most is the one that sees play in almost every format and who is almost oppressively omnipresent in Standard.
