Gon is about as far from Deku as you can get and still be a shonen protag.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

Midoriya is shown to have pretty good intelligence or at least good analytical skills. Gon not so much.
Math completely defeats Gon, but he’s actually quite good at making strategies or figuring out what’s going on with a battlefield. Dude wouldn’t have made it through that island hunting exercise without analytical skills.

ehhh
gon is what deku would be if he grew up in HxH world instead
Gon is an idiot that does what he wants to do fuck you. He's Chaotic Neutral at best.
EDIT: To clarify, I'm not saying 'fuck you' to pip.
I’d say closer to Neutral Neutral, leaning Neutral Good. He’s not actively “fuck you, laws”, but he’s also all “man, these forging techniques are neato!” And he hates murder, but mostly in the context of pointless murder, or when it effects someone he likes.

I just mean that currently Gon is pure optimism in the face of adversity and brings the people around him up to his level.
That may very well change later on

probably unpopular opinion but i much prefer the 90s HxH
it has a better adaptation of the yorknew + greed island arcs
I burned out on HxH pretty quickly. There’s just a ton of better shows available that don’t feel like they’re pulling weird ideas out of their ass every episode.

The chimera ant arc has 2 of the best payoff episodes in pretty much any media I’ve seen
I think one of my favorite things about the end of the chimera ant arc is
how much of a dramatic sendoff Pouf doesn’t get. His last speaking scene is him realizing that the King has his memories back, and seeing him give someone his blessing to live as a human. Every thing he’s been building up to in the last dozen episodes gets crushed in a single conversation. And then we later see him dead from the poison, unceremoniously. No final fight for him, because he’s got nothing left to fight for.
Ahhh yeah, looks like Netflix only has Hunter x Hunter up to the end of the Yorknew City arc. (which to be fair is also really good)
I want them to get to Greed Island because I wanna hear the dubbed versions of the post-episode card description skits.
The main thing I remember about those skits is that whoever was writing them really shipped Gon and Killua.
The show practically ships them
It’s familial, not romantic love
Yeah but
Anime familial

Heads up this is by the Konosuba guy and it's fucking hilarious
He also has another Isekai about a Cyborg and Gynoid who go to an Isekai world to infiltrate and take it over. Does the author just crank out volumes?
I imagine it's not that dissimilar from our YA novels where some of these authors are writing a new book or more each month.
Also since they're being adapted from light novels instead of manga, it's easier to fill out entire seasons. I have Welcome to the NHK, which I read in an afternoon, and they turned it into 24 episodes for the anime adaptation.

Deku is morally white but can compromise if hes shown hes wrong.
Gons morality is( was? I stopped reading after chimera ant) completely inflexible

All their scenes since
Chairman vs Ant King?
Yup
One of those was super awesome, the other caused me to quit the series.

And they cemented hxh as one of my favorite anime

Also, there was that time where Illumi honestly thought he was the person Killua loved most.
