Hey, did you know there are podcasts that aren't about video games that feature hosts that aren't inexplicably awful to hear people argue about? Why don't we talk about those?
Punch Up the Jam just had their final Miel / Demi episode with Neil Cicierega and Open Mike Eagle. It is a blast, and answers the question "What does make Ray Parker feel good?"
My Dad Wrote a Porno is back with Season 5. The identity of the special one has been revealed and there has been mention of a rusty prick. Win some / lose some.
Athletico Mince continues to probably be inscrutable to anyone that isn't British. The adverts for Stan Watson's Oily Wipes and the Kitty Batter this week were particularly good

Then, someone draws a card, and according to the card "A project finishes early because someone has a brilliant idea" or whatever
The "brilliant idea" they decide on is using Affective Magic, or Augury, to pretend that Galenika has already started reconfiguration, in an attempt to scare the Gray Duke into compliance. Those responsible (Hella, Adaire, Epharim, Sunder, Victoria Lake, and Corsica) do this without Benjamin's knowledge, and as soon as he realizes what's happened he feels betrayed, and vows to figure out who's responsible. Art starts a project, which is Benjamin's investigation.
Benjamin's investigation finishes early (?), and he brings together basically anyone who wasn't at the meeting and lays out for them that he wants to potentially leave the University, as well as bring to justice those who used the magic he discovered in such a shitty way
And literally after that discussion happens and things are at their most tense,

The tonal whiplash I had from one of the really great cutscenes about her past, to then taking her on a mission in the chopper while she stretched and posed was just the worst.

I generally liked that first season as an opening move into this genre but season 2 improves on it in basically every way and leans into the fact that a radio play based on a comic is going to be inherently pretty cheesy
