Podcats thread, please tell me about Reply All. Who is on it? Is it good? Do they pass the bare minimum of not making "punching down" jokes?
Reply All is hosted by Alex Goldman and PJ Vogt who are two former NPR people
it is very good, and generally never punches down
listen to Long Distance part one and part two
My other big recommendation is The Snapchat Thief, both because it's got a lot of useful knowledge about keeping your shit safe online, it goes down a pretty wild rabbit hole and does a pretty good job of capturing where the hosts stand on things.
Catching up on some pages just as I was catching up on the new MbMaM and ended up shutting it off midway through.
I think for me. MbMaM lost something when they got caught up on their bits (which I don't think are that funny) and stop focusing on answering actual questions.
What made them so great early on is answering legit questions, them treading the line with almost giving legit advise before diverging into their riffs and nonsense. It worked really well, and I think that's why the yahoo questions never clicked with me, since the questions were already pretty nonsensical to begin with.

The story on this Dollop is insane in the best way.
The Third Wave was an experimental social movement created by California high school history teacher Ron Jones in 1967 to explain how the German population could accept the actions of the Nazi regime during the Second World War.
What Wikipedia doesn’t tell you here, is that he was making it up on the spot.

Finished going through The Tick. It was really good all the way through and it's a shame it got killed, I would have liked more of it. Poor Griffin.
I 100% loved the entire derail into Mars 2112 in the latest MBMBAM. Also, Felicia Day was pretty nice in this one, I think she had a pretty decent chemistry with the McElroys.

What sort of theme restaurants are you looking for here? I feel like NYC is full of that sort of thing, you've got Ninja and Jekyll & Hyde and Stardust Diner and so on.
Like I guess you gotta go out to Jersey for a Medieval Times, but that's presumably just a matter of space.

New York has the Doctor Who themed bar that a friend took me to after a funeral. The bathroom is the Tardis.
As a kid I got DK64 for Christmas and then after playing it that afternoon had my parents return it the next day.

I started listening to What A Time to Be Alive! this morning, starting with their latest episode. It’s fucking great. Really nice to listen to three equally online-brained irony-poisoned folks talk about weird stuff in the news without the brutal cynicism of something like Chapo (which I still really like).

It's always been when they recorded with the podcast coming out later that night.
I remember the handful of times they released before Tuesday at like 8est being huge surprises.
