Gotta give Day9 credit, most of his review was a meme but he did say he seriously thought people were overvaluing Once Upon a Time.

And so far that seems pretty accurate? Like it's good in certain decks but doesn't seem to be format defining or broken?

Someone here thought it would even get banned in modern! As far as I can tell it didn't even make a showing in modern at SCG did it?

Morale of the story: card reviews are always all over the place until people start actually playing with them

It's incredibly useful in a format where creatures can also double as removal.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

It's 4 copies in the Amulet Titan list that took first place in the Team Open.

I think it could be decent-to-busted in Modern but that format has so many other problems right now it doesn't matter.

I think questing beast is actually underhyped for being only $20 each. Once field gets banned oko/teferi decks can play again so it will only get better. Every deck with green should basically be running them. I also dont think murderous rider will be as good if field gets banned. If it does get banned, aggro will probably get more popular and the life loss hurts. But its usefulness in adventure decks is still great.

Oh no, questing beast is insanely strong, it’s just that Golos/FotD is so much stronger.

In fact, when I get home I am gonna try to turn my mono black deck into a golgari aggro deck with Questing Beast and Garruk

    Oh shit!

I missed that. I looked at the first place Amulet Titan and they did not run it so I didn't see that the other one was running it.

    My mistake!

And yea I am saying it's a good card! A useful card in plenty of decks! But doesn't seem to be the broken needs to be banned power house that many people were seeing it as. Mostly because it seemed lots of people were caught up on the free part instead of the paid part that you will be running into more frequently.

It’s a green anticipate that searches deeper and gets you an answer or a land.

And considering the best deck in this set wants one specific creature and one specific land, that’s a big deal!

And don’t forget the heroe’s downfall or wrath of God that you can search up

Woo, get 20 packs off the Metagame Challenge with Gollos. Only two mirror matches and ended up getting rolled by mono red at the end.

While racing light mechs, your Urbanmech comes in second place, but only because it ran out of ammo.

Oh man. I have found my tried and true drafting strategy. Pick a type that is decent in the set and very easy to execute. Then force pick it every time no matter what.

Did my first ELD draft. Saw that mill was an acceptable strategy and that most the cards were lower rarity. Forced it from pack 1. Didn't even get the greatest run out but got just enough stuff to stall the games out when I no longer had mill cards and went 7-1. Last set set I never went better than even until I started forcing U/W fliers every time and then I went 5 to 7 wins every time.

Also this means I am already totally set on gems for the next sets mastery pass which further means I can already start saving all my gold for packs for the next set which means when the next set launches I will be able to get anything I want and the mastery pass on day 1 starting the cycle anew for the next...

Man once you hit that point it just fills SO GOOD.

I only realised a couple of days ago how weird it is that Arena doesn't ask for your DCI number anywhere.
I'm assuming that's still a thing they track in paper games?

I just got the equivalent of a mill win in the Sealed Eldraine event. They conceded before it could happen though. Hell yeah. They had 2 cards left couldn't attack with anything, then conceded. "I" couldn't attack either but had plenty of cards left.

If it's stompy, you're just playing big dumb green creatures with maybe rancor thrown in. Loading up a small evasive creature with auras is a different gameplan. I'm not sure how well that game plan will work but if you pick up a bunch of all that glitters, no one is going to fight you for the beloved princesses. You just have to pray that they don't have any removal.

Well, 4 removal. The princesses have a very specific kind of evasion that makes them a nightmare to deal with.

And the deck has enough stuff in it that synergizes well. Those treefolk make the princesses nearly unkillable. I can go wide with call of the widespeaker on the crafted 1/1s or (as has tended to be the case) use it to draw 6 cards.

The fact that the princess is unblockable by beefy things that kill her and she has lifelink means I can be hyper, hyper aggro. I had one game end because I was able to give the princess flying and buffed her with tall as a beanstalk and all that glitters to the point where she was 14/14 flying and his only flier was a 3/3, securing the game.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
