Columbo is great because he's always the opponent of bougie murderers.

Like, if Gwyneth Paltrow tried to commit the perfect murder at Goop headquarters, Columbo would take her down.

See now I want Columbo to ask Gwyneth about her vagina rocks

Columbo's always taking those dad-gum whipper-snappers down a peg or two.

That's Matlock, isn't it? Columbo isn't so much about catching young people as he is catching smug rich people.

Really though, I've only played the boardgame:
    http://www.geekyhobbies.com/columbo-detective-game-board-game-review-and-rules/

Pretty sure you got away with murder and assassinated all the other players if you collected your character's own cards.

Law and Order: Criminal Intent is a decent successor to Columbo. Follows the same basic ‘howsolveit’ plotline.

And the two detectives actually mesh well, instead of the constant bickering that accompanies these type of shows.

Now, after finishing Disco Elysium, I feel the strong need to watch Columbo, Mindhunter AND Hot Fuzz.

Im sure it will all help me during second playthrough!

    Better

I never got on with Morse, and his informed flaw of alcoholism that never seemed to affect anything and the way that you could tell which woman dunnit by whether he fancied them or not

Endeavour was good, though, mainly because Roger Allam is in it and he has a voice like sexy treacle
