It looks like they were pulled from regular boosters per pictures posted on Twitter. Photos of the cards with the booster pack wrappers are being circulated on Twitter. Seems the "found these at Walgreens" story is, wildly, likely true.
Oko is definitely a prominent card in Pioneer as well, but the format is wider simply by nature of having a larger pool of cards.
Standard is so boring and bad right now, any other format would be an improvement for coverage/interest.

I'm playing stupidly aggressive Rakdos aggro at the moment because at least the games are over quickly. It's not terrible against Oko, but there are definitely games I don't draw an answer by t3 and the game is over.
Plus, there is something inherently satisfying about embercleaving with a Dreadhorde Butcher or dead dino on t4.
commander decks replacing planeswalker decks for Ikoria and Zendikar because they found that, despite the higher complexity of the format, commander is becoming the primary onboarding experience for new players
Ikoria is taking the role of the standard commander decks in the year
commander legends is a draft set with 20 card boosters, two legendary cards per booster
commander collection is a from the vault/signature spellbook style product, 8 cards reprinted

Any guesses for non-reserved list green commander staples due for a reprint? Doubling Season might be a good headliner.

I super don't care about any of these despite draft and Commander being my two primary (non-Arena) modes of play. Not sure if it's just new-product burnout or what, but that entire article just bounced right off me...
i think with this hobby, if you hear a company representative go "we're making a bunch of products...AIMED AT YOU!", it is a reasonable reaction to breathe in sharply through your teeth and start thinking about how much money that would cost, and if it's really worth it
Even if money weren't an issue (and it is), it still feels like two great tastes that have no business being put together, like pizza and peanut butter.

I...hate to tell you, but peanut sauce is excellent with pizza. Basically just peanut butter with chili oil, MSG and soy sauce.

*shrug* Hey everybody's got their own flavor mixes.
That sure is a "counterspell for things that can't be counterspelled" huh.
Except for like, nature's blessing.
Just gonna make green that much more powerful, huh
It's a 4cmc card. It's not going to do much except against 1-wincon decks. Nobody seriously played Commit to Memory last go around.
Also what does Nature's Blessing do here?
I mean
It's worth a sideboard slot against Big Chandra I think?
What deck is both threatened enough by big Chandra to want a specific answer to her, slow enough they're willing to play a 4-mana answer to a threat, and wouldn't rather just side in 4-CMC threats that are protected against her or that she can't deal with? I think the only deck that fits is Simic Flash, and even then there's a solid chance you'd rather just flash in a Nightpack Ambusher or pumpable-next-turn Wildborn Preserver to finish the game out.

I've played a commander cube that was very fun.
4 players, each start with a pack of 4 commanders and draft them as normal. Draft 4 packs of 15. 60 card decks with 30 life and no commander damage rule.
Looks like no heroic but at least one card with the ability unnamed. Other than escape no other keywords. Ugh just tell me if we are getting devotion or if you fucked up WotC.
Its hard to see how that Elspeth could be anything but the starter deck version but it having afterlife does make me nervous. That much repeatablity can be powerful.

Oh good I continue my streak of not being able to read.

There's an Escape effect on Elspeth.

Constellation, Devotion, Enchantment Creatures, Escape (from the Underworld!), Sagas, and that classic G/R staple, "if you control a creature with power 4 or greater"

Other than set legality that's a Brawl Cube...
(Which I've entertained supporting in my own cube, mind.)
most of those theros cards look completely terrible. Like if they want standard to do anything other than suck, they need to print more than 3 cards in one color per set that can stand on their own legs. draft might be fun, but they should just give up on standard if they arent even going to support it anymore. like why reprint the "not oblivion ring" card when the set has an enchantment theme, and thus people will play enchantment hate, which means the exile white "removal" cards will just end up resetting loyalty or giving more etb effects because no one plays creatures that do nothing.
although i super hate all things commander, at least someone is going to have fun this upcoming year. It certainly doesnt seem like it's going to be standard players.

My dude, we saw 27 cards. Five of them rare, only one mythic. To say that we don't know enough about the set yet would be an understatement.
As a draft note though, that was Underworld Dreams at uncommon, by the way.
