It at least makes more sense now that it looks like a fully fleshed out sequel and not just "we took the PVE modes from the main game and updated the art style." In general I find that kind of co-op PVE stuff to get much older much quicker.
It does make me wonder if the original Overwatch will see future content updates.
Also, hey, have they addressed the Hong Kong situation? Because that seems kind of important...

From what they said on stage it sounds like everyone with Overwatch gets the OW2 PVP and only have to buy the co-op. I think. He phrased it a bit weird.

overwatch 2 is really more of an expansion pack to the original game
it wouldn't shock me if it had a 40$ price tag at launch, but we'll see
I thought D2 and D3 looked good but if they want to hearken back to the first game that's also fine, I'm sure they'll find a way to keep that interesting
honestly I don't think there was actually that big of a jump between D2 and D3, despite all the comparisons and complaining
D2 actually had a fair amount of funky colors/locations going on
that screenshot of D2 is a bit misleading, the overall brightness of the screenshot looks way turned up and a bit blown out if you compare the UI elements to the diablo 1 screenshot.
and like, yeah there were lots of colors, but there were also some very dark caves.
Yeah, they basically went "We fucked up and reacted too soon, our bad, we'll do better in the future" and didn't mention on a single policy change they'd implement to "do better".
"For all original players of Overwatch, you will get to play on all of the same maps as Overwatch 2 players, including all of the brand new maps. And you will get to play with all of the same heroes. It will be a shared multiplayer environment where no one gets left behind."

So basically you're paying for the PvE modes and the new cosmetics.
Honestly, I'd like to just reinstall Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 and play through it again with somebody over Bnet like the olden days.

No native widescreen for either game (mods/hacks do exist). The GOG release of D1 has an "enhanced" version that does recognizes and pillerboxes widescreen resolutions though, although with pixel scaling options. Not a bad a way to play it.
Played through D1 a few months ago, and it's still pretty fun, albiet lacking in lots of QOL stuff, natch. Has that severe, nightmarish gothic atmosphere the latter games dialed back on, and the dude namechecking the game for D4's imagery, well... won't lie to say that poked one of my buttons or two.
No for real, I saw the Immortal gameplay pop up on the Diablo channel and immediately posted it here without thinking about it, just assuming it was the 4 gameplay trailer lol
