Don't know... The Great Mouse Detective and Secret of NIMH had some great final confrontations/fights.

Maybe it's because they though offering two versions of the film (cut for network and cable and uncut for premium) would be too complicated? That or the times at which it shows on HBO are self-regulated for content by the network, assuming it's during some kind of block of children's programming.

Hey guys, the second podcast is up for Hawk & Dove.

    http://moralindifference.com/podcasts/

This time start the file right after the WB music finishes. I can almost guarantee it'll go out sync because the DVD froze for a second in the middle of things, also we kept talking too long, haha.

Let me know which method made it easier to at least start it synced, and from there we'll decide which one to use for the rest of these.

Up next, Fram wants to do some old school Batman and I want to do Comfort and Joy. Only a fight to the death can decide which we do (probably Batman, and then C&J).

EDIT: It wasn't working, but now it is.

I bet I wouldn't shut up about how, if you squint your eyes, Luthor's henchmen with the blue suits and red goggles sort of kind of almost look like Blue Beetle.

I actually thought the title Hawk and Dove was meant to have a duel meaning for the episode, referencing both the characters who star in it and the Hawk (warmonger) and Dove (peacenik) approaches to war which gave the characters their namesakes.

Also, kinda surprised there was no mention of the heavy handed allusions to current events (at the time). The whole episode presented thinly veiled references and commentary on the war in Iraq ("It was a pre-emptive strike. Wakka wakka wakka!) and, at the time of its release, debate between the so-called Hawks and Doves about Operation Shock and Awe was raging pretty hardcore since some people though there were WMDs. Hence an episode featuring Hawk and Dive fighting a literal war machine.

I'd prefer not to talk about Iraq in the podcasts.

We were too busy making fun of Ares's ridiculous speech, and talking about doves with chloroform hands.

The chloroform hands and pinata armor parts were great. I had to watch it without the episode again, though, and a lot the podcast was hard to appreciate without the visual element.

Which makes sense because watching podcasts with the footage is the entire point.

If you want you can watch the whole episode on Youtube. It's split into three parts.

It sounded like you guys were talking into a metal can in some parts, but this podcast was pretty cool. I like how you were making fun of Ares flaming morph effect.

    Hahaha flaming.

I think the tinny sound is partly because we are trying to share one mic, but it might be something Fram's doing in post.

So, anyone else see that Shirley Walker, the composer who did the scores for Batman TAS and Mask of the Phantasm, died of a brain aneurysym? I'm going to hum that Batman theme and pour some malt liquor onto the ground from my Superman mug.

Police are still investigating whether or not tiny women using dwarf star-powered size-changing belts may have been involved.

Well, shit. I remember when she helped do the commentary for "Harley's Holiday". Her music was a big part of what made BTAS so great.

She will be missed. I'll have to toast her. :(

In other news, I can actually sort of enjoy "Hawk and Dove" if I mute the TV whenever Dove starts to get all peacenik. Mostly because it's otherwise full of angry angry Wonder Woman, which is really her most entertaining state of mind.

Jordyn, this girl used that edited gif of Batman handing Amanda Waller a towel in her presentation today

another girl said, "I want to know why Batman was in there"

and I almost said, "Oh that's from the Doomsday Sanction episode of Justice League Unlimited. The lady is Amanda Waller and she runs Project Cadmus and Batman is all like 'man what are you doing' and emotvzv8.gifemotvzv8.gifemotvzv8.gif"

but instead I sat quietly and went "haha....batman"
