I wish I’d gone, it’s literally just down the road, but even then, finances wouldn’t allow it, and I don’t know anyone who would have gone with me.

I can’t quite remember, but I’m pretty sure the donation tracker doubled over the past 24 hours...

I actually would have! I wanted to go but the wife couldn’t because of work, and I don’t like doing things alone so ended up not going.

it basically did, thanks in no small part to the 350k they added before the final run thanks to twitch subs/bits/donations

I'm delighted to find out that they did a Myst block this year. The Real Myst run is a good watch:

Edit: and here's the Riven and Myst III runs, which are....disorienting

The list of good runs this year will be pretty extensive. I don't think I saw a bad one. I'm sure they're there, but daytime US looked pretty solid all week.

I watched the late night stuff almost exclusively (my work schedule is all over the place) but the quality was pretty high overall. There were a few that, at worst, were fine but not amazing but I didn't see any runs that made me want to stop watching outside of the last portion of the FF8 run. Even then the runner didn't do a bad job playing the game and the commentary was fine, he just does a bad job of making decisions in life.

Yeah, that’s about the only negative I can remotely think of from the runs this year.

The VODs must be showing up later than usual, because a lot of individuals have posted their runs to youtube already, ahead of the GDQ channel

Starting to go through Awfulblock and Uyama's song in Super Hydlide is amazing

Edit: You use a brush in the game and cease being smelly. From the crowd, "Take that to the Smash room!"

I am really glad they figured out they could just spam the kill button to avoid resetting when the crowdcontrol ended up breaking the game.

Wish they had told some of the audience members trying to get themselves over to knock it off during that LTTP run though.

Only one? There are no day passes, you may as well go all week if you're local. Its easy to get to since its just off 494.

I love Legend of Legaia, though. Extremely grindy, but figuring out combos and such was super awesome

I'm catching up on some VODs and recently watched the Destiny 2 raid. The experience is unique and I think what I like the most is that is a six-player coop experience that you won't get in other genres.

To be clear: all game submissions will be wiped, but they're still up right now to let people copy-paste them if they want to resubmit later.

  • JavenJaven Registered User regular
Yeah that's the right thing to do.

And I'm certain that they've already thought of this, but here's hoping they give preferential treatment to any runner that re-submits a run for the re-scheduled event

    • Haven't seen any Doom Eternal runs yet, hopefully Any% isn't just "run out of bounds and avoid all combat" like 2016
    • Antichamber is already crazy enough without speedrun tech
    • The non-speedrun showcase this time is Pump It Up, cool to see more rhythm stuff show up
