Many of the numerical methods in fluid mechanics are statistical in nature

(I'm glad I never have to do fluid mechanics again, even within engineering people that can do it well are basically sorcerers)

It sounds like a professor who doesn’t want any students but they’re required to offer a class so they named it something that would discourage interest.

none of that is how it works here though

it's all part of the course

there's a couple electives, later, but for the most part there's no picking and choosing classes

and there's not really any professors since this isn't a university

they used to not be able to have less than 10 point classes, so tons of classes were these weird combos but now they can but it's still a 10 point class just with two different components and I'm not really sure why it's not two 5 point classes

Sometimes I calculate a Reynolds number.

The other day I calculated some B tier numbers to give a hand wavy "this probably won't work" assessment

    I refuse to go deeper.

I’m having some real bad days now, can’t remember a uniformly bad day these last six months or so but yesterday was garbage and today started out that way too.

All because I’m trying to take blood tests, which I’ve now spent a collective 3.5 hours on and still not gotten done. It’s amazing how extremely simple things can fail.

The Council game is pretty engrossing. I've been playing it for the past six hours and didn't even notice the time

It's very loving of art history and history/politics in general along with being an interesting mystery. Lots of detective work that uses RPG elements and light puzzles. I'm right in the middle of the game judging from the episodes and there's a classic profiling/choice conundrum which is so pulpy and noire but fun that I'm stuck on and feels like it could drastically alter my ending (if there are indeed multiple endings)

    @Bogart might actually like it

I’m watching some docudrama about Rome on Netflix and the narrator is Sean Bean and I’ve also been playing a lot of Civ6 and Sean Bean narrates that as well.

    So much Bean content

life is unendingly cruel for I have things to do today and I would much prefer not to do things

even replaced the sound of the thunderstorm with chirping birds

    urgh

and the coffee's starting to work and I ate a hearty breakfast and I can feel myself filling up with energy for the day

    disgusting

okay the thunderstorm is kind of a legit complaint I fucking love thunder more of that please

EDIT: I also kind of wonder if this lecturer has prepared anything at all because this page is just all empty except one message that says "I'll add pensum, description, notes, tasks and everything else start of january first lecture jan 14th" and I'm kinda hoping he's just procrastinated preparing because it would be funny.

It is wild that Rome had an emperor named after a toilet

Or did people start calling toilets “commodes” because of him

The piece of furniture that can simultaneously be accurately called a chest of drawers, a hutch, a dresser, a vanity, a dressing table, a clothes drawer, a chifforobe, or a bureau does not need yet another goddamn name.

Lady Raven pulled some Holmes-esque analysis of the downstairs bathroom this morning and came to the conclusion that I dropped an emergency shit ASAP.

Hahaha, she only has half the picture, she missed so many other clues.
