Put Vivian in Smash. Besides Vivian being great it would force them to release Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door on something besides the gamecube. Super Mario RPG has had a bunch of ports already.
How do you put someone who’s incapable of technically leaving the floor into Smash?
Something that’s particularly funny in TTYD is to see how far her shadow will stretch up if she’s off the side of a tall platform.
He's a fun character and is appropriately Iconic enough that it makes the part of me that loves how Smash Bros is turning into this weird, mash up game that I would have heard about on the playground as a kid very happy

Not likely, actually. Basically all of Bayo’s moves in Smash are unique to her, putting Bayonetta and DMC side by side. Dante’s aerial movement would most likely be based on his non-damaging invincible air dash, for one. He also doesn’t have a move quite like Heel Slide’s flip kick. And his moves generally use weapons with reach, like his sword. He might have a dive kick, but the one he gets from Beowulf has a much sharper angle down than Bayo’s Afterburner Kick.
Really, the only thing that might be the same between them would be a charged gun move like Bayo’s bullet Climax. And from there you can make it wildly different just with angles or properties of the bullets.
Now, if we were considering Wonder-Red or Viewtiful Joe, things may be different.

My preferred pick is still Master Chief and maybe Steve/Alex from Minecraft., but I would accept Dante if he got a skin of his DmC incarnation. Unfortunately I feel like Capcom would specifically state that anything from that game could only be a spirit at best.

- Alastor: Dante equipped with a Screw Attack and Death Scythe. Respawns 3 times before finally being defeated. Fought in Caatle Siege.
- King Cerberus: 3 Duck Hunts, equipped with a Freezie, a Screw Attack, and a Fire Flower, respectively.
- Lady: Bayonetta (or maybe Snake) equipped with a Super Scope. Spirit boosts fire and explosives damage when equipped.
- Nero: Joker equipped with a Fire Bar. Has accelerated Arsene meter after a certain point.
- Vergil: Dante equipped with a Killing Edge. Periodically gains boosted attack and defense. No other gimmicks.

Hes quite often the final playable character in his own series. Hell technically in 5 he is the fifth character if you count V as 4 unique beings
If you did decide to count in that crazy way, Dante would be 6th.
