Day Two: First Quarter
The moon has moved past its Perigee. It has never been so close.
The moon is the First Quarter.
The secret order of Moon Mages gathered for the second time in centuries to try harder to find the villains lurking in their midst.. The moon mages couldn’t help but be drawn to one of the most notable persons from their most recent conclave. Green was thrown up against the podium and his colleagues closed in. Green looked around for a friendly face but those he did know turned their heads away from him. Green frowned and then tilted his head slightly towards a mage in the corner. People looked at Green funny but could not understand what he was trying to indicate.

So before narration yesterday ZH broke down for me exactly how his power worked with the moon position. Would this be helpful for me to share with everyone - or is that too much info the mafia could use ?

So moon movement is closer and also still on reverse. Also, no Vig kill.
Might the reverse action cause the Vig to go missing and we should be pushing the other way instead? Not sure if it’s that, or the close vs far.
We should figure that out quick so the village gets its kill back.
So far the moon has progressed thru phases the way it would if no one was affecting it.
Gizzy, I'm inclined to think that the info would be more beneficial to the village than the mafia, but i'm basing that on assuming the mafia powers probably work similarly. 2 entirely different mechanics based on the MPAP seems unlikely, as does the idea that the mafia's abilities have nothing to do with MPAP. Mafia kill is probably independent for balance/game timing reasons but if the village has powers that work off of MPAP i bet the mafia has some too.
Maybe don't share specifics but a general idea is probably useful. Use your feline instincts!
Also there's a part of me that's a little sad I didn't give Aura the chance to betray me as an SK.... i think that's about the only betrayal scenario we haven't had yet.
Also I believe reversing the moon would make it phase clockwise on the chart. Counterclockwise is its natural movement.
Seems like it’s phasing normal and we keep making it come closer to earth.
This feels like one of the few games where knowing the setting matters. And that setting is astronomy, and I feel like a pretty big dunce because I clearly don’t know.
So, if it’s been the normal pattern and we are just making it closer, does that mean only the top power usage takes effect? So the reverse I’ve been submitted is getting out voted by closer?

That’s what I’m assuming - the pull closer votes are winning. Personally I voted to move it far away last night.
The description of it being beyond perigee makes me worry that it’s currently outside the range of village powers being able to work. But I don’t know that for sure.

The moon naturally progress from New Moon to Crescent to Quarter to Gibbous to Full and back. Speeding this up or reversing it would take a lot of energy. Why would you do that?

Now, @discrider I thought we've gotten past this little "accusation war". For the past few games we've played you've accused me of being mafia and even fought tooth-and-nail about it and I was NOT mafia!
Now, as part of this little tradition we've started, this is the part where I am suppose to accuse you of "being super defensive and so that must make you mafia", but HAH I refuse to follow that tradition.
Let's just skip to the part where you realize I am indeed NOT mafia and work together to find the real ones.
My power did depend on the distance the moon was. It changed a bit near/far. And I think it was a bit stronger in the middle? Depending on perspective, I guess.

Moving it far is the new plan yes? No point in hiding that if it’s obvious the mafia goal is the opposite of that.
Still doesn’t sync with ZH’s comment on phase though. They didn’t mention distance as impacting.
