21 years of playing Pokemon and I can finally field an all shiny team (in June, when the Isle of Armor is released).

God help the poor bastards if a steel-type shows up.

I haven't seen how those colours are like for the gigantamax - could you share?

I haven't seen a wild Milcery ever, much less a GMax or Shiny one. Are they even in Sword?

Yeah they're in sword. it's a rarer but not terribly uncommon spawn

There’s a Milcery event on right now so they are very common in raids. They give out sweets as rewards. I almost have a complete Alcremie collection now. I am only missing the flower salt and the flower mint creams.

I took my shiny Alcremie to the battle tower and did some double battles. It is a tough cake to defeat! Its G-max move heals yourself and your ally while doing damage. Plus I got leftovers and draining kiss. It never dies. I didn’t take a screenshot of it in cake form though.

My lore theory is that Ditto is the true progenitor pokemon

All other pokemon species are descended from dittos that committed to a single form or group of forms, trading off generalisation for specialisation

sometimes this meant mimicking animals or plants, and ultimately replacing them in the ecosystem

but sometimes it meant looking like a candelabra or a cake because being amusing/useful to humans is an excellent survival strategy

and this is opposed to the normal theory of exactly this but it's mew?

Speaking of dittos, Wonder Trade gave me a shiny one last night with perfect stats, the hidden ability, and holding a destiny knot.

That is...not a legit one, I think it is safe to assume?

Wonderful! Probably not but it'll still breed well! <3

    Is it also foreign?

    I voted!

    Kanto: Mew
    Johto: Umbreon
    Hoenn: Shedinja
    Sinnoh: Leafeon
    Unova: Golurk*
    Kalos: Honedge
    Alola: Passimian
    Galar: Dragapult

*realized after the fact that I should have picked Cofagrigus (or maybe Leavanny), but oh well

Also, I realize this would bring the total Pokémon count way up, but each form, Mega, G-Max, regional variant should really get its own entry in the generation it was introduced. Alolan Marowak would probably be my pick for gen 7

    Yep!

So now I really have zero excuse to not farm for some shinies that I want.

Gonna do my best to complete the pokedex first though, for the improved chance.

Depends on your definition of legit. There's an actual chance that was spawned and caught in-game this gen, since one person can reset for the perfect raid and then farm it an infinite number of times. Unless it doesn't have any dmax levels, I guess, because that would mean it didn't come from a raid.

Nope, it has a max dMax level as well and the info for it says that it was caught in a den.

But the sheer odds are what's making me suspect it isn't legit.

‪I voted in the Pokemon thing:‬
    ‪Kanto - Pinsir‬
    ‪Johto - Crobat‬
    ‪Hoenn - Chimecho‬
    ‪Sinnoh - Froslass‬
    ‪Unova - Lilligant‬
    ‪Kalos - Florges‬
    ‪Alola - Primarina‬
    ‪Galar - Appletun‬

I think I should have chosen Volcarona instead of Lilligant.

    Unova: Volcarona
    Kalos: Fennekin
    Alola: Vikavolt
    Galar: Centiskorch

I could make a favorites list out of just Gen 2 Pokés though. Cyndaquil, Quagsire, Sneasel, and Chinchou are all toward the top of the list.

    Unova - Blitzle
    Kalos - Skiddo
    Alola - Charjabug
    Galar - Alcremie

Similarly, any of Quagsire, Lanturn, Quilava, and Mareep could have taken the Johto spot. They're all top 10 mons for me.

Gen 7 was also very difficult, but in that all the designs are great but none are really favorites. But the list is ludicrous: Rowlett, Rockruff, Vikavolt, Golisopod, Pyukumuku, Dhelmise, Lurantis, Araquanid, Mareanie, Toxapex, Cutiefly...

I feel bad about leaving off Best Starter Torterra, but Gliscor is probably my single favorite pokemon.

...looking at this again, why are there so many that start with G? What an odd coincidence.

    unova: galvantula
    kalos: noivern
    alola: ribombee
    galar: corviknight

looking through all the art, gen 1 designs were honestly not great, and gen 2 outdid it completely.
gen 3 and gen 4 seem solid but a little phoned in, in places.
unova was incredibly hit-or-miss, with some great designs and many really mediocre ones.
alola is also like that to a lesser extent, but there aren't as many pokemon so it's not as pronounced.
kalos and galar, on the other hand, have lower numbers but higher quality, which i'm a big fan of.

Well I did it, I finally finished training up a bunch of killers to make a proper team

I just have to do the arranging into cohesive teams part

Anyone know a good simple resource for plugging in team members and seeing like, a spread of weaknesses across the team so I can see where my holes are

My problem is there's several gens where I just can't pick a single one, so I have to hop around a bit. But for today's pick, it was

    Kanto: Arcanine
    Johto: Forretress
    Hoenn: Milotic
    Sinnoh: Roserade
    Unova: Chandelure
    Kalos: Dragalgae
    Alola: Comfey
    Galar: Falinks

I hope the fan response for Falinks is big enough that they decide to throw in an evolution for it in the DLC, if they don't already have one planned.
