Finished a replay of DMC1, that is a much shorter game than 12 year old me thought. Also way easier compared to later installments...

After all this time, I'm still sour that you never accepted my open invitation to play Heroes of the Storm, because you're SUCH a MOBA nerd. <3

I looked up the Midge Ure cover of The Man Who Sold The World after remembering enjoying it in MGSV

It turns out that without Keifer Sutherland mowing down waves of soldiers with a helicopter mounted machine gun it is just fairly bad

    played Synthetik with a friend

sadly the multiplayer is only 2 person co op but it's solid fun

people might hate mechanics such as gun jamming and having to eject, then reload though because it definitely takes some getting used to compared to other shooting games

otoh some people might find it right up their alley

The rest of the soundtrack is excellent though. It seems quite rare these days for games to really nail the soundtrack.

Rachel Weisz as Tania is unnecessary (and please no more closeups of her having sex fer chrissakes – her love scene with Jude Law is so over-the-top it looks more like he’s killing her than making love to her.)

This is a quote from a review of Enemy at the Gates, a grim WW2 movie that my friend's dad took us all to see in high school.

In the midst of all that, he scene where Jude Law relates to Rachel Weisz via enthusiastic, absurd sex was, uh, one that was very much interesting to sit next to your friend's dad through. Fun times in the theater.

The entirely gratuitous and completely over the top sex scene was a staple of early 2000s film.

It was as if every director of the period was eyeing a backup career in porn

It's score is also wonderful, tho infrequent.

I think I like MGSV's theme more than the ol' plagiarised one.

For parental-adjacent embarrassment though, it’s hard to beat the time in college i took my Dad to see American Beauty. He began laughing uproariously at the opening scene in which Kevin Spacey masturbates in the shower, and didn't stop giggling for the rest of the movie.
