And a bonus is you get to see a bit of our fireplace.
I've got a couple of more pics without flash - it distorts the colours a bit - well, I would have if I could find the thingy whatsit to plug my phone into my PC. I'll have to use the proper camera again, this may take some time, so I'll just post this for now and see how long it will take me to upload/host (?) more pics. Lewiep, come home soon, this is hard!

Hi again, here's a couple from today. hopefully I'll make a better job of loading the images, or at least make them smaller. I know lewiep told me how to do it, but I've forgotten.
Anyway, this picture is nearly finished, I know there's something missing ...
maybe I'll remember soon ...
Same picture, slightly different lighting:
Hmm, still something missing ...
wait a minute, its ICO and the girl, silly me, I'd better finish it off, probably tomorrow.
Jam Warrior, pm me your address and I'll check out postage costs.
Looks like the SOTC awaits.

I've gotten the July timeslot, so I'm narrowing down images now. I figured like melatonin, I'd get imput from you folks here.
Right now, the two images are Okami, though I'm considering something from Zelda as well, though I haven't found something quite as good.
Here are the two Okami pictures:
and
Right now I'm leaning towards the first one, though it's obviously a very complicated painting, and I don't want to take advantage of LewieP's Mum's generosity here.
I'm also considering taking some Zelda sample images and just letting her do whatever she wants with them to suprise me.
Thank you! Without sounding too soft, you guys are making me cry with your appreciation of my pics, you certainly know how to make someone feel valued.
On request restrictions, I won't paint gory, nasty, violent or exploitative pics, only pretty ones. I'm a wimp, I shut my eyes through Spiderman, I was scared, and missed most of Lord of the Rings 2, I was so scared. Lewiep had to hold my hand through both, and I have a cushion to hide behind when I watch Dr Who, and even then get very stressed. I had to stop watching X Files cos I had bad dreams!
The only other limits are my skills and time - I aim to do 1 pic per month, list has reached July so far, if I can do more, I will, but I have to go to work as well. Also, I'm going to Glasto in June, volunteering for Oxfam, so am aiming to get June's pic done early.
I expect to start SOTC next week for Centipeed

Oh man, that ICO painting is amazing. Just amazing. Which doesn't help my complete indecisiveness as to what I should ask for...
Can't wait to see the SOTC shots.
Pick something that doesn't already look like a painting, will yah. I'm curious about an artist's interpretation of something else. This your chance to get a portray of Zelda. :P
I'll be posting this off to him some time this week, and will be starting on SOTC for Centipeed next week.
Just to remind you about costs, this came to just under £10 to make, but I don't yet know postage/packing costs. I'll post that price as soon as I have it, so you will be able to work out postage for yourselves. It weight about 2 1/2 pounds.

Wow. Actually being the focal point of something like this and not just being a spectator is pretty awesome. I understand the excitement other people feel in moments like these, now. I'm firmly among the group of people who have said "I can wait to see how it turns out" at one point or another.

I'm having a hard time deciding what genre and then what game to choose for the painting.
Well, Jam Warrior's pic is now on its way, and because there's some stupid football match on, I've had some time to myself this afternoon, so I've started Centipeed's SOTC earlier than I expected.
I tried to upload the pencil drawing first, but it didn't show up very well, so what you've got is:-
The sky done:-
The start of the buildings on the left and the sun ray shining over the colossus's legs:-
more of the buildings done and the corner where the horse and rider are:-
I've also done some close-ups of various bits:-
The bit of the rider and horse
The buildings:-
and the Collossus's hand:-
I might get some more done tomorrow, as apparently Man U are playing in some competition at 2:00 pm, yawn ...

Indeed the previous two posters are right. I wish I could paint as well as you can. I'd be covering my walls in video game related art as fast as I could.
I think I'd like to point out that seeing as it is my birthday today, it is quite fitting that LewieP's Mum is painting me something right now. Although that's not to say I expect to get it for free, don't worry. It'll be a lovely belated birthday present, is my point.
Oh, and I forgot to say, I could do with a clearer pic of the colossus, cos when I printed it out, its mainly black. I've tried looking here but I'm clearly far too n0013-ish to do it. Any suggestions gratefully received.

It'll let you look at different angles of the model so that you can see where hair is meant to be and stuff. It's a dark colossus anyway, although looking back at the picture I sent you as reference, it is a little too dark for painting from because it's hard to make out detail and the like.
Brill, thanks. I've printed a couple out, and messed about with the brightness and contrast a bit, that's helped too - didn't want you to have a dark blob in the centre of your picture.
Hope you had a good time on your birthday.

Oh wow! It's arrived and it looks even better in the flesh (in the canvas?). Pictures to come when it is hung properly.
A truly classy item for my walls, many, many thanks Mrs P. You are a true talent.
In the true spirit of barter I have swapped the painting for 2 goats. (Ignore third goat in the picture, it's a mirage). May they go on to have long happy goaty lives.
We should start auctioning these on eBay for Child's Play; I'm sure the demand for the work well outstrips the amount of time our planet has left before it falls out of orbit and into the sun. And if not, I want to put myself in the queue for awesome works!

Hey Lewisham,
well, the list now reaches December this year!! Guess what my Santee will be getting?
Let me know what you'd like, and I'll add you to the list.

The brown one looks like he realises that he's the mirage.
Oh and LewieP's Mum: Not that I want to sound impatient, because I'm not. I just wanted to check how the painting is going. It's fascinating to see your work in progress shots.
Hiya Centipeed,
I'm to quote LewieP "a bit poorly" in that I'm full of a cold, and haven't done much - I've re-drawn the colossus since having better pics to work from, and so will have to tidy up the background a bit.
I'll post a new pic tomorrow with the re-drawn image. I expect to start painting the colossus on Monday, and so will have more pics to post then, as well.

Thanks for the update. But, you take as long as is necessary to get better. I don't want you thinking you owe me anything, and the only reason not to rush is the other people in the queue, but I don't care about them, so take as long as you need!
LewieP's Mum sent me these over email because Imageshack wasn't working properly. It's not working for me either, so I've hosted them on my server for now:
Those of you more observant than I was will notice a BIG GLARING MISTAKE. I didn't. I'll fix it for the next post. Thankfully, Centipeed really tactfully pointed it out - I'd have hated to finish it and it be wrong.
Anyway, I'll work on it tonight as a reward for doing my coursework - Noddy goes to Kolb-land and says hello to Tuckman, Honey and Mumford, and bumps into Belbin. Oh joy.

Whohoo!!! Jam Warriors goats have arrived! Well, not literally, I don't have a pair of goats tethered in my back garden, although that would reduce the amount of time Kev (LewiePs daddy) spends cutting the grass.
Oxfam have sent me 2 fridge magnets with a goat on, to decorate my fridge/cooker/ anything else metallic I can think of.
OK, I've done a bit of work on SOTC for Centipeed, will do some more tomorrow morning, and post (if I can get the pics to load) before I go to Llandrindod Wells for a couple of days.

Personally I think a painting from Wind Waker would be much better. Brighter and pleasing to the eye.
