Reeves had cited BTAS and Detective stories as inspiration and set photos showed old timey cars and GCPD blimps

I would be very excited to read your reactions to some of those moves

Man that fucking movie has some bad shit in it

You Only Live Twice is trash. And I say that as someone who has an admitted love for all the Bond movies, even the shittier ones like Octopussy and the (uncomfortable shudder) non-Eon production Casino Royale from 1967.

Oh it's not good at all, but it's also complete insanity at points.

Also if one wants to compress the Roger Moore ones down, just watch For Your Eyes Only.

I love, love, love the theme from For Your Eyes Only, though I'll admit I'm partial to this cover than the Sheena Easton original:

Eh, not my kind of month from Criterion. Husbands isn't one of Cassavetes' better films, Dance Girl Dance is merely decent, I feel like basically any other publisher could've released or already has released blu-rays of Wildlife and The Great Escape.

Scorsese shorts might be worth a peek (I like Italianamerican and The Big Shave is fun in a film student sorta way), and an upgrade of the Six Moral Tales is nice, but to me it just raises questions about a second Rohmer box set, like the Comedies and Proverbs or the Four Seasons rotations.

Definitely agree, although I’m quite excited about the Scorsese shorts. I’d love to see more short film collections in general. How many great directors have a bunch of good or at least interesting shorts in their filmography? How many are available, beyond the odd special feature or terrible YouTube rip? It can be so hard to get a hold of that stuff.

The last time I heard the adults in the theater all collectively lose their shit at the end of a movie was a very very long time ago.

But man, people lost their shit at the end of the Sonic movie. It was glorious.

I just came out of Sonic the Hedgehog. The movie was fine! I feel like Sonic's characterization was off, more hyperactive lonely kid than the chill free spirit he's usually portrayed as, but it was okay overall.
