On Battlefield of Eternity as Dehaka

What I cannot do:
Meaningfully contribute to our Immortal race
Meaningfully peel Illidan and Tracer

What I can do:
Bully the shit out of Deathwing in lane
Soak globally

Our Brightwing is up my ass the entire match, even though we're winning because I'm keeping our team a talent tier above the enemy the entire game. First objective goes to us, because I scored us our ultimates first. Second objective goes to the enemy team, because we floundered going in and they got a huge head start on us. So, I decided to keep soaking and make the best of the phase. Brightwing is like "that's the second objective you've missed". And meanwhile, they scored nothing on us; the second Immortal took our top Fort, and I scored their bottom Fort out from underneath them as they pushed top. We gained another talent tier, pushed them back, I dug in behind them to flank, leading to a wipe that allowed us to take their top Fort, as well. Like, everything's fucking perfect. And this guy's completely up my ass. We have one bad fight late in the game, which had absolutely nothing to do with me and Brightwing starts saying "it was probably Haka's fault". And then he starts saying "look, I'm going to play like him" while pushing the opposite lane during the ensuing teamfight. Just being a complete dickhead.

Once again, we scored a pick that led to a switch in momentum in our favor, allowing me to dig in behind them to create a flank that boxed them in, and then we wiped them.

And as the game ends, I say my customary "ggwp", to which he replies "good laning, you mean".

Like, imagine being shitty that your offlane kept you at a talent tier above the enemy team all game and created multiple flanks that led to team wipes in your favor, instead of flaccidly swiping at the Immortal and missing tongues on Illidan and Tracer.

Just imagine.

I've said it before (about 7 posts up from this one), but I'll say it again:

It's one of the single-most frustrating things about HotS. I've basically abandoning using Tanks in Bronze SL because I HAVE to be a hero that can soak fast. we had fucking Exterminator Raynor and goddamn Zul'jin, two of the best autoattack heroes in the entire fucking game (with Exterminator Raynor probably being the single best PVE damage hero in the game now) PLUS a W build Hanzo and it's like yeah we really fucking need those frail Dehaka autos slapping the big red man, my dude.

but no, brightwing's FRAIL EGO was fucking shattered because we didn't have "the frontliner" being there for the objective. my goddddd

"we needed dehaka there", they say. and i'm like "dude no we don't." "what if they invade", they say again as we can literally see everyone on the entire enemy fucking team in top lane nowhere near the objective. OOF. biggest fucking oof.

not to mention i'm literally shredding this fucking merc camp and killing the mercs in like 3 fucking autos and BW comes over and uses Bribe when they have a sliver of health left. like yeah dude good job you're really contributing to the team there, bud

That's what I mean, like, what's Dehaka gonna do to save you if he's there? Do you think it's reasonable to assume that I can lock down an Illidan or a Tracer with a tongue grab? Do you think that I can hit either of them with Isolation? There's no fucking way. I play Dehaka a lot, at a fairly consistently high level, and I'm telling you straight up -- you're fucked if your whole plan revolves around me locking down a high mobility assassin on my own. Against a lot of comps, I can pretty reliably reduce the drag cooldown by auto-attacking, but who can I hit on their team? I can't catch Tracer or Illidan, and even if I do, Illidan evades my autos. Like, there's no scenario in that match where Dehaka provides any meaningful peel. That just isn't his role.

My only play is to aggressively soak XP until the objectives spawn, where I've hopefully gained us a talent advantage, forcing the other team to race us, rather than risk it all in a teamfight down a tier. And if they do decide to invade us and force the teamfight, my dig comes in behind them to fuck with the Ana, rather than in front of them where Illidan and Tracer will just dive through me. So that's exactly what I did. And we won. Like, not only did we win, but we held a commanding lead throughout the entire match and won pretty convincingly.

And people still wanna bitch, because their offlaner played his role well, rather than playing a different role poorly.

I also scored two solo picks on Tracer in the first like, 5 minutes of the match. Both times, she dove me hard and I ate her Pulse Bombs just to bait her into diving me close enough to the Towers that I could land a tongue and force her to eat multiple shots.

Well see, there's your problem. BW saw that you can clearly kill Tracer (twice) and assumed that you'd do it all game long. You played yourself.

I forgot to mention that I earned 250 for the win. 200 for the victory and 50 extra points to make up for a disconnect I had. Apparently they added this new system in where you lose 500 points for a disconnect, but earn back 50 with each game (win or lose) unless you disconnect again. Smart change!

I don't want to sound like that guy, but how the hell can I get out of Bronze when my teammates are so terrible?

Blindly sitting in lanes and getting ganked
Invading into the only unclaimed camp on the board when it's obvious they are all there and dying
Going 1-8 as Naz against a team with little to no CC in under 10 minutes
Taking a team fight 4v5 at level 19 vs level 18 when I'm literally 10 seconds away from soaking us to 20

These have been my last couple of losses and they drive me up the fucking wall. I was a few wins away from Silver and fell back to Bronze 2. Like, I wish I could hard carry the team, but I'm not THAT good.
