PC Games - Ancient Enemy & GameDev Beatdown out today!

I started playing fallen order last night, I'm playing on pc but using an xbox controller and I'm enjoying it quite a bit so far.
I didn't buy the premium version of the game, but it's given me the "premium" option of a yellow lightsaber, which I'm pretty happy with.

The protagonist dude is just so boring so far though.

Karl Geralt Witcher 2 Assassin of Kings final entry

What a clusterfuck of a situation. Here's the key updates

I let Roche kill Henslet. Fuck that guy.
I had to make a choice between rescuing Triss or a princess.
I chose Triss.
It turns out that the lodge of Sorceresses was behind the kingslayers
I let Sile die because fuck her. She had it coming
I then fight an actual fucking dragon because sure, why not.
I let the dragon live because they are beautiful noble creatures.
I finally have a good chat with Letho.
He's an agent for Nilfguard because this is magic Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy apparently.
Controversial choice, I let him live. I'm just as surprised as anyone but in the end, I had already cleared my name. There had been enough killing.
Apparently Yen is in Nilfguard and I'm meant to care about her and something called the Wild Hunt. I remember meeting the King of the Wild Hunt awhile back. Maybe when I get my memories back, I'll know why I should give a shit.

Karl Geralt will return in Witcher 3: the Wild Hunt.

Sometimes at the end of the year. I've decided to install Baulder's Gate: Enhanced Edition and actually make an attempt at completing it.

Oh neat, I think the last time I played was back when they first added flying levels and I was completely unable to beat them. Have to load up and try some of the new stuff one of these days.

Played some Void Destroyer 2 over the weekend and it's pretty great! You start with a ship that's basically a cockpit with an engine and some guns taped to it and you do piddly little missions to earn some cash. I upgraded with an automated turret to the bottom of the ship that would automatically shoot my target as long as it was within it's coverage (basically a 180 degree hemisphere below/around my ship), or it could also target other hostile ships instead. I also gave it some basic shields and an activated ability that deployed an invulnerable shield directly in front of me for about 20 seconds. Those let me kick the shit out of pirates and the like and take on harder missions until I could buy a medium fighter with two turrets for it's main guns (meaning if I'm locked on a target, they'll shoot at it when I click as long as one or both of them have the target in sight), and it's secondary fire is a short-range shotgun-like blast. I still had my first ship though and I had it follow me, so now I had my medium and my small fighter (I upgraded the medium ship with shields too, and also added a swarming missile deployable). Eventually my starter ship got itself blown up in a mission with lots of baddies, but I'm about to be able to afford a mining ship, and once I buy one I'ma set it to auto mine and sell, and then I'm going to be rolling in the big bucks. I'ma also get a fleet of small fighters to escort my miners, and another to follow me around so I can start using the RTS features.

Basically this game is like X3 + Mount & Blade + Homeworld

No, it's a very chill and low-stakes game where romance is like, kissing and holding hands.

It also is cool because the magical tests you take are in a first-person dungeon like old-school Might & Magic games and the solutions to the puzzles can vary wildly based on which schools of magic you've been focusing on.

He's the classic Italian Renaissance "enlightened tyrant" - no genocide and overall equality of the races, advanced technology and science, and lots of murders by the secret police. Also, Novigrad remains a free city, with no invasion and subsequent sacking.

Turn on my computer when I get home from work. PC doesn't recognize my keyboard. Doesn't even light up. Weirdly the USB passthrough to my controller works.
Fumble around and unplug and replug USB connectors behind my PC til it turns on and I can log in.
Get an error message that Steam can't connect to the network. Damnit, is my PC having a sudden failure of all parts now?
Steam network troubleshooter does work, first suggestion is check the server status page.

So did Satisfactory Update 3 change the way animal spawning works? I swear you used to be able to keep animals away by building stuff. But a giant hellbeast and a whole bunch of murderbees keep spawning on top of the foundations in the middle of my oil refinery, and it's starting to get irritating.

I spent last night wandering to many of the crash sites I knew getting hard drives. 11 drives and I still didn't get the steel recipe I wanted. I got the compacted coal steel recipe, but eh.

Time to go explore some more. I guess I have been needing to find a better way down the east side of the map anyway.

I remember his pitch, I just specifically remember the ending slide talking about achieving the tyrant and the murder and the secret police stuff and didn't mention achieving anything about equality of races, advanced technology nor science.

I must say I think I am not engaging with slay the spire on some level, I cant get past act 3 with any character besides the poison character and that was only once when the RNG favoured me and I totally rolled the game which

I dunno I encounter this feeling with roguelike games often where after awhile it feels like all failure and success is attributable to the RNG rather than anything Im doin failure is bitter and success is hollow
