For those unaware, you can currently get Lincoln's hat and jacket for free from the promotions tab on the C-Store. I am *extremely* tempted to make an Honest Abe boff. They're going to die from stupid anyway so they might as well do it in style - with a suit, top hat, and axe.

As a lowly console peon (I play on Xbox), I'm still 2 weeks out from getting the Legacy content and new ship access. It doesn't hit console till March 3rd, but at least that'll give me time to finish leveling my Sci Officer main to full Admiral and lay in some savings for upgrades.

How do you build out a Space Abe?
I'm thinking Tactical, Abe wasn't exactly known for his space magic, but I've read stories about him kicking ass and taking names in the wrestling ring.
Although, a bit of research shows that he did hold a patent for a boat design to help them maintain buoyancy in shallow water, so maybe engineering? Pretty sure that Tactical would help more with his axe work though.
What skills? I don't tend to do much with tactical BOffs, since my engineering team can throw out a field of space guns/mortars/murder drones, having a person around for grenades and good punching seems a bit superfluous.
All three ranks of the Kirk drop kick and... uh... I dunno, sweeping strikes to fill in the fourth slot. No tech, no magical nonsense, just his axe and a healthy dose of righteous fury.
I ended up giving him sweeping strikes, 2 different ranks of lunge kicks, and motion accelerator which is a movement speed + melee damage buff. The first thing he did was drop kick a voth and then immediately finish it off with his axe.
Totally going to deploy him against some borg next.

Hit Rear Admiral over the double XP weekend on console and used some Zen to get a T6 Temporal Dreadnought. This thing is a beast, 81,000 hull, 4 fore and aft hardpoints 4-3-4 on bridge consoles and God's own exotic DPS.

I need to ask, what's the best way to upgrade a ship's ability to turn?
Is there an engineering console that I should be building? Does a boost to engine power affect turning or just speed?
I'd like to wallow a little more elegantly in my juggernaut.
Engine power does help, and there's the RCS engineering console. Both are a percentage of base, so the ships that need it the most benefit the least.
Pilot spec can help. I think you can still farm deuterium surplus from Franklin Drake's old daily mission, which gives you a consumable evasive action on a separate cool down.

There's a couple of ship specific sets that give flat +turn rather than +% but obviously they are limited to what you can use them on.
So I haven't really kept up with the game. What do you guys do for gear? Farm missions for specific stuff and then upgrade it? I guess I should do the endeavor stuff too. That seems important.
And hypothetically if one was to buy some ships from the store(keeping in mind I play Klingon side mostly) what would be the most bang for your buck? I have the pilot escorts but I don't have the command battlecruisers, the flagships, or the miracle worker ships and outside of holiday events I don't have any new stuff.

My gear is about 80% Reputation gear and the rest is either fleet consoles, quest rewards or crafted one offs.
For ships the absolute best bang for your buck single ship in the game is the Morrigu Warbird you can use it with either faction and it comes with the Emergency Weapon Cycle trait that fits in almost any build you'd care to think of. Probably also worth highlighting the Fleet Admiral packs which come with a good selection of stuff at a noticeable discount.
I really like the T6 Odyssey ships and the T6 multi-mission science line, so their equivalents are probably excellent.
If you're feeling ultra flush the big Dominion pack is also pretty good, there's an absolute tonne of ships in there and you can use them on any faction.
Ship sales usually come along every few months. I think First Contact Day is in April, but I don't remember if that usually has a sale or not.
Speaking of fleet gear, I hate that it's bound to character. My fleet has a 3 character limit (understandable since you can only have 500 total in a fleet) so I have a bunch of alts I would love to gear up but can't. Account bound would make way more sense and be more convenient, plus then Feds could get dual disruptor sniper rifles.
Nice thing for buying fleet gear: aside from ships you don't need to be in a fleet with the necessary upgrades, just on the starbase of one that does. You can farm credits and build the provision counters in any fleet and then get an invite to a tier 5 fleet's starbase to buy stuff they've unlocked.
I switched my unused science dude over from a cannon Arbiter build to a torpedo Glenn and hoo boy I suck at it but it's still fun. Gravity well + torpedo spread with a Tyken's Rift is a fairly enjoyable combination, although the kazon test subjects may disagree. I really want to like the Intrepid but the seating layout just doesn't seem as good, even though having a hangar is nice.
My end goal is to use as many of the legendary ships as I can. Currently my engineer has a Defiant and my TOS tactical tellarite has both a Discovery Constitution and a TMP/Phase 2 Constitution because I can't decide which I like more. They're both gorgeous and effective!
The next character will either be a canon TNG Galaxy theme (including uniforms and phaser rifles!) or canon Sovereign, not sure which yet.
Yeah this is pretty much my hobby.

Interesting! My science character is doing really nicely in the Intrepid, it works very well with their primarily torpedo weapon focus.
I can definitely give the Sovereign a thumbs up, I love it on my Engineer set up for max power, the 2 piece set makes it pretty nimble as well!
Reshuffling of the admiralty tour of duty bonuses. Instead of Klingons and Ferengi both being 3,000 dilithium lump sum, Klingons are now 50,000 and Ferengi are 30,000, with a catch:
Klingons give fleet dilithium vouchers (actually nice since it bypasses refinement limits)
Ferengi gives bonus pool so you have to earn 45,000 dilithium the hard way to actually get it all. This is the equivalent of Quark giving you a free holosuite program but still charging you full price for access to run it.
Also looks like they're changing the free T6 event campaigns. There's 4 events instead of 3, but the reward is upped: Free T6 ship from the C-store plus 200 lobi crystals, or pass on the ship coupon and get 1,000 lobi (enough for a ship plus 100 extra).
1000 is a *lot* of lobi, especially during the occasional 30% sale. I may finally be able to get the plasma storm module for my gravity well dude unless a T6 console or trait catches my fancy.
Definitely an awesome option for people who don't like throwing all their credits at opening lockboxes to get a few lobi at a time!
Battle at the Binary Stars every day for 2.5 more weeks is truly going to be a test of sanity. I absolutely loved how the last few events gave you various different options for the daily but then they just...stopped?
It's pretty much the simplest task force, in terms of mechanics. Blow shit up, followed by blow shit up while also occasionally hitting the interact button, followed by blow more shit up.
On a team where everybody's done it before, I think you end up spending more time locked in briefings/cutscenes/etc than not.
edit: maybe that's not true? I don't remember if you can end the "survival" phases early by just blowing up enough ships.
I decided to go all in and spent literally all my credits on the Maquis Raider for my science dude so he could have that sweet, sweet plasma storm console. One activation during Binary Stars and suddenly my daily endeavour for "deal 500,000 plasma damage" was completed.
10/10 would recommend (if you don't mind dropping 220 million on a single character unlock and don't mind a massive space tornado taking up the entire screen. The ship is probably fine, too.

I've been wondering where the space tornadoes come from...
Old free ships have their prices reduced to 1k, 2.5k, 5k, and 10k for tiers 1, 2, 3, and 4 respectively.
Previous zen ships are now 15k, 37.5k, 75k, and 150k respectively. Walker-class currently stays zen.
Would be nice if T5 would do also, but I guess those are a bit too close to T6 with the upgrade tokens.
This is a TON of admiralty cards, not to mention a lot of fun console powers, pulled out from behind the paywall. And remember, T1-4 Warbirds are faction agnostic now.
First Contact Day this year is Terminator 3, featuring Seven of Nine. The newly upgraded Borg are going back in time to stop First Contact between Earth and Vulcan.
Measure of Morality was one of the best things the game's done in a long time, not even just since the big Discovery derail but at least back to the TOS expansion... I'm tempted to say since D'tan's We Are Romulan speech. Hopefully Commander Insubordination won't be along this time.
Mission isn't as big as I hoped, takes the form of a patrol instead of a full mission. Not a bad map, though.
The timeline change is that the Borg don't focus on bombing the launch site, but on getting landing parties down to assimilate everyone around it. They manage to build a transporter and start reinforcing of the Enterprise-E. Fun mission, Seven is just as good as in the anniversary missions. The Enterprise crew doesn't appear, and ends up sounding completely incompetent. They're doing what they were doing at that point in the movie, Data and Geordi are in the missile silo, everyone else is in the bar, where they remain completely oblivious while you have a massive firefight just outside the front door with dozens of Borg drones including numerous Starfleet officers so freshly assimilated they still have their uniforms on and then blow up a damn depot less than a hundred meters away. Truly Riker at his best.
I know it's been a long while since @see317 asked about getting the heftier ships to turn more quickly, but apparently the (universal) console reward for the new event increases turn rate as a function of auxiliary power? I haven't had a chance to play the mission even one time (let alone 14) yet, but I really wanna see how that console feels on my not-fully-a-beam-boat Andromeda/Galaxy, and if makes the transition from phasers to quantum torpedos go more quickly without having to totally stop pumping my beams full of juice.
Today I came up with a new name for the "old" First Contact event:
Cochrane Space Program.

On Xbone I've hit 65, blinged out a Khitomer and am speced out as Temporal Operative/Pilot. I haul ass into patrol spaces, lay down as many exotic DoTs as I have consoles for, then cloak and floor it to a safe distance while blasting:
From April 24th at 8 am PT to May 4th at 10am PT, on all platforms, Q will be returning outside of his usual seasonal timeframe, to re-ignite the festive season once more! The Winter Event will return for a brief period simultaneously on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, beginning on April 24th and running until May 4th.
Who couldn’t use a little bit of extra festive cheer this time of year? While this special event is active, Q’s Winter Wonderland will be accessible as if the same event from 2019’s appearance was in place, allowing players to return to the frosty playground and participate in all of its usual activities to earn prizes and let off some steam!
Also during this limited time return, players that have not completed their progress toward the 2019 Grand Prize Ship – the Fek’Irhi Fe’Rang Dreadnought Carrier [T6] – may once more earn Daily Progress towards this mighty vessel, or to reduce the remaining Lobi Crystal buyout price.
As an added bonus for this limited-time return, Q has added a very special treat to his loyal Holiday Vendors’ prize selections – a Lobi Package containing 200x Lobi Crystals! This limited-time offer can be purchased using the Ornaments collected by participating in various Winter Event Activities, but may only be purchased once per account.
Between this and the next ship event, they're sure pushing Lobi hard. I wonder what they're up to.
