season 5 is when it really pops off, I was only lukewarm on it up to that point
I find it kinda funny that like, 60% of FMA:B takes place over a couple years.
Then that last 40% is basically one 48 hour period.
The pacing on that 60% in FMA was better than FMA:B...it moves way too fast at the start so a lot of the interpersonal stuff feels like it has less impact.

I mean, 20%. The pacing at the start is better because it gives you more time with Nina and Maes and so the impact resonates.
But to be fair the shit with Nina happens in one chapter in like, chapter 2 or 3. Maes is by 15. In the manga it happens just as fast.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

I think this may only apply to those who watched the original FMA before Brotherhood. After I bought the series, I was hanging out with a friend who hadn’t seen either one, so we watched Brotherhood. As far as he was concerned, the pacing was fine.

Full series spoilers, and the bit that happens at like 7:04 is absolutely in canon as far as I'm concerned.

was very pretty, had a very odd premise, and was extremely gay and not super interested in creating any kind of plausible deniability.
