Just checked in for my flight from DFW to SeaTac tomorrow morning and there are A LOT more open seats now than there were a few days ago.

So in that meeting last week about my role, the person who wanted to reallocate me was convinced not to do that. Today I got a schedule meeting for several initiatives I have nothing to do with in a... dare I say... clerical capacity. Like, go show up to take notes and provide staff support like an admin assistant.
...Which, no. I'm a project manager. I have admin assistants. And the topics are the most bonkers things, things I have no experience with and no affiliation with whatsoever.
It's almost deliberately random. So, yeah. That's what pushed me to the edge to file this app.
Just had my "review" like fuckin yikes, if I wasn't already looking for something else this would motivate the shit out of me.
I still have no tangible goals to work on, they are the same as they were this time last year but my job responsibilities changed like 2 months after that so their no longer valid "We'll work on that" my boss says.
The work I do is important, and I'm the only one who knows how to do it, and when I'm not here the rest of the department struggles to get it done. I am also still the only hourly employee in the department with the lowest pay. But hey I got a $0.75 cent raise out of it.....I was "successful" (the middle ground) on all levels and was told I'm "Doing really good work" and given no feedback on what, if anything, I can improve on.

Fuck right off with that.
I should mention the stuff in the second paragraph isn't me bragging, its actual words said to me about the work I do. Its actually really easy if anyone would take the time to understand the training materials I made!

Fucking yikes is right holy crap. The fact that they can, in the same sentence, say you do a valuable job, but can't bring you up to salary with anyone else and can't figure out what to do with you speaks volumes. Glad to hear you're actively looking for other stuff at least.
Reminder that they just hired a new personal assistant for my boss who has a higher pay scale then me and is starting at a higher pay then me.
Not that I want to rag on the position, but the job description was like "Have a high school diploma and be good with Word and Outlook" and mine requires a 4 year degree and at least 2 years of experience in fraud and analytic work. Which I had.

I need to get out of this trash state.
Yup, reminds me of the company I worked for a few years ago that balked at paying me more than $25/hr for accounting work then hired a fresh-out-of-college person as a secretary for $75k who turned out to not even be able to operate a printer.
Good luck with job hunting! I hope you find something awesome!
San Diego is glorious. I've never been so drunk around so many zoo animals.
It amuses me how there's a part of town where it seemed like the city council went "you know what we need? CULTURE." and then they plopped down a bunch of museums and parks and shit.

Yeah, we've got that. The zoo, the science museum, and several smaller museums are all up in the same corner of town. It's officially called "the Adventure District."
Of course, this being Oklahoma, it also has a giant racetrack and casino.
FYI - don't search at work.
Was a trip to watch it come through when I lived there (was 3ish blocks from the Castro).
Half dome is amazing, one of my favorite hikes (for the start and the end, the middle sucks)
To be fair, San Francisco is basically the only reason for a tourist to go to Northern California.
Eh. Eeeeeh. SF is the center for theater/museum/touristy restaurants and stuff, sure. But I'd say Northern California has Southern California beat pretty soundly for non-beach oriented outdoor stuff, and things like wine tourism.

Well outside of one gate of Camp Pendleton is nothing but strip clubs and bars. abandon all hope who all leave that gate. Far too often I would have to go fetch people from that area before the MP's were called

Arent there a ton of car lots too? I had a buddy back in 2001 buy a tricked out firebird from a predatory lot right outside his base. His interest was so high.

Here we go.
What are you planning on doing while out there?

Hey, as a resident of Folsom I.....
you know what, I got nothing.

Nice try. We've all read the police reports.

It'll be a hefty fifty page document of pure academic jargon and commentary.
I've got eight pages completed and this is my current attitude (which will continue for the next 45 days):

Some asshole at the DOD has flooded the whole damn with hundreds of jobs.
I don't want to, but I need to.
I hear the DOD is hiring.
Ahem. (Pretty NSFW, fyi)

EDIT: Oh wait, wrong Folsom. Well, still!
Also quite a few very nice wineries in NorCal. And a lotta good stuff in the mountains.
Ugh, just more proof of the prevalence of Ansel culture these days...
Half Dome is too much mountains. It's like the glitched-out terrains I made as a teen when I messed up the sliders in Bryce 3D.
And just think - that's only HALF the dome! Imagine if it was called Whole Dome!

Solution here, works for me. (Trying not to do straight-up contentless posts in the affected threads.)
Bowl of clam chowder in a bread bowl on a foggy day is pretty nice though
Apply to be the guy in charge of fighting the Corona virus. I heard you can get that job even if you literally don't believe in microscopic life.
