I use Spotify a bunch because it has the deepest selection of music (Tidal claims to have more but they inflate their numbers a bit by just have one song off certain deeper cut albums that Spotify will have in full). I'm currently also using Deezer and I'll give it a close second especially if you want HiFi audio, and I find it's personalized playlists to be on par with what Spotify offers.

I absolutely did not enjoy Tidals UI and found its search function completely frustrating as well IMO.

Deezer looks good, but it seems to be basically Tidal again. They have some Distant Worlds and such, but I guess Square-Enix only made deals with Spotify and Apple. However they do allow for local files.

I'll do some digging. It may come down to which one has the easiest way to upload local files. Maybe I just need to bite the bullet and download iTunes.

I mean if you have the files, why do you need a streaming service? Just... listen to the music?

Ideally to condense into 1 app. Streaming for newer stuff, then my files of music, anime, soundtrack, stuff that's hard to find on streaming services to round out. Also I have almost 400GB's of files, which would be tough to throw on my phone. Too bad I've lost a bunch of CD's over the years, some of my rips are only 192kbps MP3's since my first MP3 player was only 512MB's lol.

Baroness is playing in Detroit in May. I am considering getting a ticket since Detroit is probably close enough that I can just drive home after the show.

I think I'm still too out of shape to stand for a whole show though.

You should go. Worst case, arrive a bit late and/or leave a bit early. Or there might be seats around.

I just found out the ear jellies from my old broken sennheiser ear buds that were my favorite fit my newer Bluetooth ear buds and are way more comfortable because they are smaller and softer.

Actually the ones that came with the Bluetooth buds had their logo on the outside of the ear jellies which is stupid because 1 you cant see it there and 2 it digs into the sides of your ear canal when you wear them.

It really is, and it's fantastic live with the crowd singing along. I caught the Police twice on their reunion tour and that one was great with Sting doing a bit of call and response with the crowd, and then just staying quiet and letting the whole arena sing it for a while.

    lyrics

    Heading for the urban side
Everyday's worst for me even now, hey
I still cannot endure my loneliness
    Heading for the shore
Cottoncandy clouds hide my future stuck in mud till morning

Headaches never stop by the broken window
I could not find something special nowhere
Falling drops could not weep into the trace of someone and disappeared before I knew

Airducts in the rooftop that I stared blankly next to you
Baked films turned out to the ashes
The room leads me to the heaven far from here

Come here, if you live the city of electron from today
Play in this vague dream, till you cannot turn back

Plastic Beach is ten years old today and it might be my favorite Gorillaz album in a big way that's taken a decade to grow on me

Gonna out myself as a weirdo (again), because don't think Plastic Beach has anything on it that I have any interest in listening to. Or like, tolerance for, even.

It's almost all songs that are so outside my wheelhouse that I'll be jarred from whatever I'm doing if YouTube or whatever autoplays onto one, and need to change it because it's annoying me. And nothing that hits well enough for me to seek it out.

Oh, it’s easily the worst late period Beatles. Only Day in the Life and maybe Lucy are good, but I will concede that Day in the Life is probably the best Beatles song. I’d take Let it Be over it.

I think Plastic Beach is very much a case of, at the time it came out it was largely derided for not being Demon Days Vol. 2: Return to Feel Good Inc., so a lot of people remember that initial backlash, but by now it's firmly established an identity of its own

'Please Please Me' is the most flawless pop rock album in existence

but yeah, I'll agree with your statement

also, Sgt. Pepper is my least favorite Beatles album but no one can deny the effect it had on music as a whole

Lucy in the sky with diamonds and come together are my least favorite Beatles songs. On Sgt Pepper I think the following are very good songs.

With a Little Help from My Friends
    Getting Better
    Fixing A Hole
    Good Morning
    A Day in the Life.

I think Let it Be naked is the best late stage Beatles record.

I'd add the title track and refrain to that list

Within You, Without You and She's Leaving Home aren't great

Mr. Kite and Lovely Rita are great though!

Judaeo-Spanish or Judeo-Spanish, commonly referred to as Ladino, is a Romance language derived from Old Spanish. Originally spoken in Spain and then after the Edict of Expulsion spreading through the former territories of the Ottoman Empire (the Balkans, Turkey, the Middle East, and North Africa) as well as France, Italy, the Netherlands, Morocco, and England, it is today spoken mainly by Sephardic minorities in more than 30 countries, with most of the speakers residing in Israel. Although it has no official status in any country, it has been acknowledged as a minority language in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Israel, France and Turkey. It is also formally recognised by the Royal Spanish Academy.

Judaeo-Spanish, once the trade language of the Adriatic Sea, the Balkans and the Middle-East and renowned for its rich literature especially in Salonika, today is under serious threat of extinction. Most native speakers are elderly, and the language is not transmitted to their children or grandchildren for various reasons. In some expatriate communities in Latin America and elsewhere, there is a threat of dialect levelling resulting in extinction by assimilation into modern Spanish. It is experiencing, however, a minor revival among Sephardic communities, especially in music.

En la mar hay una torre
    En la torre una ventana
En la ventana hay una hija
    Que a los marineros ama.

    Dame tu mano palomba
    Para suvir a tu nido
    Maldicha que durmes sola
    vengo a durmir contigo

    No me mates con cuchillo
    Ni menos con revolver
    Matame con tu amores
    En tus brasos murere.

Si la mar era de leche
    Los barquitos de canela
    Yo me mancharia entera
    Por salvar la mi bandera

Si la mar era de leche
    Yo me haria un pexcador
    Pexcaria las mis dolores
    Con palavricas de amor

Si la mar era de leche,
    Yo me aria vendedor.
    Caminando y pregundando
    D'onde s'empesa l'amor.
In the sea there is a tower
In the tower is a window
In the window there is a girl
    the loves the sailors.

Give me your hand, my dove
to come up to your nest,
Unlucky are those that sleep alone
    I'll sleep with you.

You do not kill me with a knife
    nor with a pistol
    Kill me with your love,
    I'll die in your arms.

If the sea were made of milk
    and the boats of cinnamon
    I would dive in
    to save your ship

If the sea were made of milk
    I'd be a fisherman
    I'd fish for my pain
    with words of love.

If the sea were made of milk,
    I'd be a merchant.
    I would travel and ask
    where does love start.

I likely have some Ladino ancestry, but it's one of those things that's fairly tricky to confirm because of centuries of Spanish pogroms making that whole thing kind of a clusterfuck
