it's alright. if you're only interested in RTTS (which is all I am in interested), you'll barely notice the difference
20's updates to RTTS are mostly meta.... the biggest one is the personality traits seem to actually do stuff now instead of just be another menu to work through
maybe everyone knows this and I was just too close to the situation, but the rays rebroadcast the Game 162 comeback vs the yankees and it strikes me as utterly and painfully obvious that the Yankees intentionally threw that game to stick it to the Red Sox
like
literally just throwing center cut changeups one after another. i dont even know if they threw a non-strike after the 7th inning
That looks fun and I don't really have any attachments to any MLB teams any more
It's a good player Sim career mode it just puts you in your at bats and defensive stoppages or you can watch the whole game, or do a franchise mode and play as the whole team.
Usually goes free on psplus during the world series or maybe on sale if opening day ever happens
I have 19 from the ws but only played 17 I think was was great but it was my first one and jasc said I think 19 was the best jump in quality so I'd recommend it
I dunno about arcadey games tho I've only played MFL instead of Madden cause MFL rules and literal murder is part of the game go go team all orc line backers
yes.. i would also be willing to bet that the 2020 season never takes place
if for no other reason than that by the time any of these requirements become true, there will be so little calendar time left that it is meaningless to even try
only thing that can change that is if they decide to do empty stadium games...
MLB is working on maybe opening the season in May, with everyone playing in Arizona with, presumably, some sort of testing method to keep it all clean. There are...a lot of reasons to think this might not work, plus this quote from a Mets player:
I get having everyone in the same place to maintain quarantine but
There’s ~750 active slots of people to keep from their friends and family
Add another ~450 for coaches and staff
Plus rotate in another ~300 for injury call ups*
1. Does Arizona have enough air conditioned domes to do this?
2. You’re looking at ~1,200 people that need to be completely isolated (as a group) for months
3. You need some way to keep your possible call ups “clean” to add them to that other group as needed...
I do give them kudos for trying, but I think this one needs some more workshopping...
*could be way low...isn’t that how many just the Yankees needed last season?

Don't forget hotel staffs. And Umps. And all those people need to eat.
And no, they're going to rotate through the Diamondbacks and play other games at spring training fields. Possibly 7 inning doubleheaders.
I could see it working if they greatly expanded the rosters to give players rest, but playing day after day in that heat will take its toll on any player. But then that is more people to isolate from everyone else.

First game of the MLB The Show players league is tonight
Regular season: Round-robin. Every team will play every other team one time, for a total of 29 games — three innings per game — per team in the regular season. The regular season opens April 10 and is scheduled to end April 28.
First regular-season game: 9 p.m. ET, Friday, April 10; Blake Snell (Rays) vs. Amir Garrett (Reds). This is a rematch of the title game of the four-player mini tournament in March. Drama!
Playoffs: The top eight teams will make the playoffs, which will start shortly after the regular season ends and largely mirror the MLB playoffs. The first two rounds are best of three, the “World Series” will be a best-of-five.

This a hell of a lot better than whatever they want to do with quarantining the entire league in Arizona and making them play baseball as hostages or whatever the fuck nightmare
...We know you’re eager for a release date, which unfortunately we haven’t been able to finalize yet. Industry-wide changes due to COVID-19 have led to some logistical delays in the game’s release. We’re not at the point where a delay beyond the April window is definite yet, but we’re optimistic that if there is a delay it will be minimal. We’re going to get the game in your hands as quickly as we can - we’ll announce a release date once it’s confirmed.

i can't speak to the other game modes
The last baseball game I played was something on a friend's super Nintendo about 25 years ago
I remember there was a change up that changed the ball into a feather
Create your own player, start out in AA and work your way up. 19 is totally fine, I honestly can't tell the difference between 19 and 20.
they do other stuff with like deckbuilding teams now and stuff, but none of that holds much meaning for me
a LOT of the updates from year to year now are focused on non-RTTS things
MLB the Show looks interesting, but maybe I'll wait a couple weeks for this

Currently in the bottom of the 3rd.

they're playing game 7 of the 2016 world series here

Too soon
Edit: this World Series matchup should have been a sign that we flipped into the bad timeline

super mega baseball is a series enjoyed by some content creators I watch, if that helps
I don't know what that means either, I am too old for video games?

Super sucks for Dodgers fans especially as their World Series win was clearly stolen, but it’s the right thing to do.
nah that's more an internet thing
I have watched people play it on the youtubes and the twitches and it seems fun
