Fighting had grown fierce and ugly across the Bay of Crabs the Targaryens hurled their forces against the Vale, heedless of any damage they might do themselves, confident that their machinations would keep their southern flank safe. The Arryns felt themselves pressed, with the Dragon on their doorstep and the old threat of House continuing to press the attack. The Ironborn, deprived of booty for so long, reveled when they managed to steal the march and pillage the old hunting ground of the Sisters.
Stark viligantly kept watch, Winter had passed, but it would come again. Would holding the North be enough for them?
In the south, Gardner and Martell attempted to press back the Storm Kings, who continued to fight with their fabled fury, casting the Dornish from Greenstone. (With some help from a flock of crows, claimed survivors of the fight) In the West, a new general was sung of. They said nothing, and none saw them without armor, but all that saw them spoke of the grim majesty of Ser Geth and his efficiency in casting the Gardner scouts from the Westerlands.
Rumors and legends grew. A Hoare was said to have punched out a Squisher King and stolen his hoard, while a scion of the Arryns was said to have uncovered an ancient spell of ages past by bargaining a mystic tome to a wizard. Who would lay claim to all of Westeros, no one knew, but things were sure to get worse before they got better...

One day, the Targaryens will realise their folly. Likely when we throw them back to the sea. Perhaps we'll give them a memento to remember us by - something like a boulder tied around their ankles?
Issues: Stark army in Cape Kraken should be supported (listed in combat log, not on map) This is wrong, there is no support.
Targaryen army in Saltpans should be opposed (listed in combat log, not on map)
Greenstone is in raided status (incorrectly returned to Durrandon after temp control)
There are three important things:
1) House Targaryen are traitors and will say or do anything to get their way, and that includes lying about truces
2) @Theodore Floosevelt has 8 beautiful daughters and we love hearing about how they're doing
3) You will find no better friends than House Arryn, who have worked hardest against the lizard-fuckers' invasion of Westeros, who have defended the coast with honour, and who are the cleverest of the lot. Also we have really nice mountains you can visit.
There is one slightly less important thing, but also worth noting: we talk mad shit about each other and to each other, but OOC, it's a big party, fueled mostly by the maesters' wine when we can pry it out of their hands and/or mouths.

Can’t believe you’d imply that Theodore Floosevelt’s 8 daughters are ugly and you don’t care about how they’re doing like that. Does House Martell know how little the squids think of their children??????

Sorry guys, I'm gonna just make it official that I'm stepping down. Have been feeling really under the weather for the past few days and doing the game ended up being a lot more stressful than I thought it'd be from the outset.
Good luck guys!

The Hoare captains were confident that the pickings of Sheepshead Hills would quite easy. It was a nasty surprise when they encountered a Stark force waiting to cast them back from salt pools they'd crawled from. What the Starks had not anticipated, however, was the Kraken forces foraying into the interior of the North, putting the Rills to the torch.
Just as unexpected was the news that Arryn forces had snuck through Cracklaw Point and launched a surprise assault on Dragonstone. The Targaryen holding was besieged, but held the line, even a massive Targaryen army batter the Whispers to no result, with Arryn engineering ensuring the fortress could withstand the fangs of the dragon. Arryn forces waiting for incursion across the bay claimed that night was as day with the number of campfires they could see in Cracklaw.
The Lannisters thought themselves cunning for assaulting Golden Grove while Gardner attempted to claim Durrandon territory, but found themselves smashed like mined stone against the shields of the Reach.
The Martells seemed to have the upper hand, casting the Durrnadons off hotly contested Greenstone, but seemed unable to extricate themselves from Blackhaven. In the meantime, the Durrandons set about reclaiming the Mistwood, seemingly forcing a Martell response.
The Maester of Gardner claimed his scepter of Iron, having written a new treatise on the lineage of the noble houses of Westeros. Many of the new recruits to the Citadel sought his advice in how to ensure the next generation of nobles would be just and capable rulers of the land.
All around Westeros, Black Brothers of the Night's Watch seemed to stand vigil, counting the dead and claiming some of the wounded for their ranks. The crows it seemed would grow fat from this war....

If we are airing grievances, I will say that I approached Lord Zonugal of House Hoare two turns ago about forging a peaceful border between our Houses. Now that we have a unified North, we had no interest or intention in further aggression against their House. And as you can clearly see, we have not attacked them since, though we have assisted our stalwart allies, House Arryn, as needed.
He did little better than spit in my face, and now his forces see fit to raid our lands.
Let it be known that House Stark is willing to offer mercy to those wise enough to take it.
They wish to invade; very well. That is only in turn, and I hold no ill will against them. But judge not whatever future actions we may take against them, and remember that it is wise to accept our generosity.

You heard it here first folks, y'all should lay down and let House Stark fuck us all to a swift victory.
Come on guys, why can't we let House Stark sit back, pop an artisanal IPA, and coast ever onward to an easy win?
We don't want to upset them, cause then they might go back to being the gluttonous land-gobbling war-mongers they have been thinly disguising behind a paper-mache mask of civility.

As I recall it was you that first approached me about peace. It was you that agreed to the terms when they were offered. You had made your bed and found it uncomfortable. For three long seasons did you sit there and take no action and now you blame us for your misfortune?!
You are indolent liars and I believe the lands of Westeros have had enough of your like.

Lord Stark, I got two quotes for ya, take them to heart & adopt them well:

That is an outright lie. I simply said we would be fools to attack unprepared, and feigned a smile when dealing with the invader, the murderer, Lord Targaryen.
At no point between our first assault and the conquest did we ask for, or offer, peace - not until Crackclaw was ours. At that point, we offered truce, which was accepted, and in that very same turn, was broken. I will save them the embarassment of exposing the fullness of that conversation, but when one kingdom keeps its armies within their own borders for the fullness of a turn, and the other invades those borders...
Each passing season, I stand in awe of the capacity of greatness of our Gardener heirs and bannermen.
There now, in this moment, is no land in Westeros where education is so highly valued.
I have been but a old potbelly, one who can turn the sword in the aide of a friend and provide a good brew, and in my limited ambition, I thought that would be all my house would be and need.
But Shalmelo, my Heir has taught me our house can be something more.
That Grand Maester Auralynx, the most wise of all viziers, can establish institutions of learning that defy fate itself.
There has never been a Scion on Westeros so Valiant, so Beautiful, and so Scholarly.
Our foes quake at his bravery. Our people find joy in his beauty. Our professors marvel at his ingenuity.
All that is mine will be awarded to him.
In light of the fantastic work done, I have commissioned from the wonderful people of our community of Ashford, a land liberated from tyranny by our great knight Jdarksun, the first batch of Auralynx Ashford Ale. The AAA is a powerful brew, that lends oneself to curiosity and courage, to change destiny of what can and can't be. The AAA will be awarded as the highest honor among our bannermen, and of course our dearest allies, the House Martell of Dorne, lead by the most principled Princess Kayne Red Robe.
If you are curious what this new brew tastes as like, I will just refer you to Auralynx if they so desire to educate.
Lord Stark, I got two quotes for ya, take them to heart & adopt them well:

I know not who this Son Zoo is, but in my experience Warfare is based on hard work, supply lines and pointy bits going into people. I believe you tried deception and lost a third of your army, while leaving another third behind enemy lines.

Oh no, what injustice! The Starks have to actually face battle instead of conquering peasants while our back was turned.
I find it quite interesting that the Lords Stark felt conquering Hoare ancestral lands under the guise of heritage could so conveniently forget that these lands were the raiding grounds of the very same ancestors they claim to represent for hundreds of years before Hoare control.
It was you who decided it was time to revisit this ages old argument.
So I've been holding my tongue but my Lord says I can speak of these matters.

You attacked us without reason, and expect peace once you achieved your objectives? How foolish. Why should we accept peace with one so low as yourself. You cannot be trusted. Should we offer a hand in peace, it will surely be met with an Arryn dagger. The Vale will simply attack unprovoked when ever they feel it necessary as they have. There cannot be peace with such people.
So I've been holding my tongue but my Lord says I can speak of these matters.

Sorry we believe you to be warmongers when you strike at us unprovoked. Perhaps you can explain the flaw in my logic?

:bro:
I've seen the first season and read the first three books. After waiting so long for the next book I now have a rule where I don't read unfinished series' so I'll pick up the rest of the books once they're done.
Good luck guys!
Alright so vote close is 10:00 pm central? got it
House Arryn attacked us unprovoked at Cracklaw, and got routed. They then asked for peace. We agree, and they rewarded us by attacking again next turn. They then asked for peace again, for real this time.
So of course, we attacked them, as they proved most deceitful and we could not trust their word.
If Arryn wants peace, they can give back our land that they stole. As they have not, I believe that they have no intention of peace in their black, cold, and hard hearts of coal.
In Dorne the fuckening is always going.
House Hoare is ready.
Doth my smug aura mock you?
It really is!
They have the most Fantastic parties on the land of Westeros!

Steam: Chagrin LoL: Bonhomie
We already knew you to be honorless, and now you prove yourselves liars as well, and attack our honor in the process? Little wonder you felt you could not trust our word, though we treated with you fairly and in good faith - it is, after all, said that a liar believes all other men to be liars also.
"All warfare is based on deception." -- Sun Tzu
"If you can quit, quit. If you can't quit, stop complaining. This is what you chose." -- Joe Konrath
I know not who this Son Zoo is, but in my experience Warfare is based on hard work, supply lines and pointy bits going into people. I believe you tried deception and lost a third of your army, while leaving another third behind enemy lines.
I think I prefer my way.
Sorry we believe you to be warmongers when you strike at us unprovoked. Perhaps you can explain the flaw in my logic?
