I started re-watching Riverdale with my mom and she is like, The Big Archie Fan, and she wasn't particularly down. Until that scene with Archie going to town on a punching bag and he was all sweaty and she turned around on Riverdale right quick.

I was emotionally exhausted after. And that's with watching the other following episodes. I still get yay teary thinking about the scene on the roadside.
's car was vandalized by his dad. LIk eI know the show is painting the picture right now that it was Honey, but I feel like that douche really is just a by the book type of asshole, but his dad is pissed and unhinged enough to do that.
Mr Chipping
was also absolutely sitting at his desk all night jacking off to Jughead's panicking.
They're all Jughead's story he's writing, right? I'm not the only one that thinks this?

Latest Episode thoughts (Episode 63)
Oh no Hermione. no no no. What. One night of sex does not mean renewing your vows. so disappointed.
I guess at least Kevin's not evil gay man Sigh.
Also, Uncle Bedford might be the only one trying to help Cheryl at the moment. I mean, not in the best way, exactly, but he was at least admirably appalled.
I guess Mr. Chipping didn't have the best abs so couldn't stay in the cast. Sadness.
Archie: No, you stupid sexy dumbass. To all of it.
Betty: Being the favorite doesn't disqualify your Mom's behavior. Especially if she bribes you.
Cheryl: Penelope is still fucking with you. Or maybe Toni, so she'd actually have something to do in the show for once.
Jughead: You don't even go to Riverdale anymore!
Veronica: The answer to cutting ties with your Dad is not to engage him in yet another pissing contest.
Kevin: Don't worry, we remember you. Even if the writers don't.
New episode! Well, new episode with all the previous flash-forward clips + context.
Donna is going to end up in an Asylum or something and Betty will have the smuggest look on her face. I wouldn't blame her though, this was a very thorough plan, with more people in the know than I would have thought. And Donna has to be the dead teacher's secret daughter, because that is exactly the trash fire this show is.
Also I swear to god if they really try and push "Barchie", I'mma be annoyed.

I have long since lost any hope of this show even being a pale shadow of good, but I'll still read the spoilers for the bewilderment of how stupid it's become.

Hey Riverdale fans, starting Monday May 11th, we'll begin our journey through the exciting & insane lives of the citizens of Riverdale from the first season all the way through the recently concluded fourth season.
It'll be every Monday 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. PCT over Kast.
There's two whole episodes I apparently missed because when Legends of Tomorrow isn't on, I don't pay attention to the CW at all. Also the app I use somehow got region-locked to outside the US on Saturday so I didn't have time to watch both episodes.
First episode is the inevitable musical, because they always do that. The big surprise though?
Jughead finally sang in the episode! It was great! Also the rest of the town sang too, because they did a full-on musical episode, not just "we're putting a school musical on again". I think all the music came from Hedwig and the Angry Inch (as a protest against Mr. Honey), but musicals are outside my wheelhouse. It was fine.
Also Archie and Betty made out, because of course they did. So that'll be fun to re-hash for the umpteenth time over the next few episodes.
And Reggie in drag looks like The Rock, which is weird.

finally finished this season the other day
i was messaging rorschach kringle about it, telling him i was on the musical episode. fun followed
he said "the ending is perfect and that's all i'll say", so when i got to the end of the episode (mask-betty murdering mask-jughead) i messaged "holy shit!". RK responded "i don't know about what specifically but i'm guessing archie's mom!!"
he later explained he was confused about the timeline and was talking about her revealing she's bi/has a girlfriend, which i already knew about/saw, but i assumed he thought i meant the end of the season and spent the rest being like "omg what about mary??"
because, you see, i was incredibly high and all i could think about the whole time was "what the fuck does mary do??!"
i crafted my theory that mary is "the voyeur" and is sending these tapes out to everyone to scare them/remind them of dark shit because she just really fucking hates this town and wants everyone/archie to leave
i spent the entire finale waiting for this reveal that never happened
Oh hey, this show has been back for ~6 weeks, and I finally watched the premiere.
The VCR Weirdo
The fact that it was Jellybean and Friends was hilarious, and I wonder if that was the original ending or something cooked up just because of COVID.
Anyway, the premiere was basically everyone graduating High School, and swearing to keep in touch... only to probably not do that because that doesn't induce TV DRAMA. Anyone else still watching the show?

Having watched through to episode 6, this is probably the right call. The new status quo (7 years later!) is an interesting set-up, at least.
Also apparently the Graduation episode was episode 3 of the new season, I skipped over the first two. Nothing of value was lost, since it was just wrapping up the previous season which will never be brought up again.

It's set in NYC and 5 years after Riverdale takes place, so I can't imagine it being a "weird" show like Riverdale is
but hey, Josie is on the show so maybe we'll get more Pussycats
Also I swear to god if they really try and push "Barchie", I'mma be annoyed.
It'll be every Monday 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. PCT over Kast.
We'll aim to get through three episodes per week.
