There are games I stopped playing like 20 years ago because I couldn’t figure out how to get past something and refused to look up hints. I’m real stubborn.
One of these days I’ll beat Tex Murphy: Overseer.
And the later Tex games even have their hint systems built in!
I dunno if I ever commented I got a new GPU in here at any point. I got kinda busy for awhile. But man it's nice being able to play games at framerates that are good.
and then I go back to playing games that are done with sprites or games that are like 7 years old as is tradition. Though that's mostly because I dont tend to buy games that are real intensive if I know I wouldn't be able to run them.
This is so me it's scary. Built new PC a month ago. Just started playing Runescape again.
When I get a new machine it's basically tradition that the first thing I play on it is Unreal Tournament. The first one (now 21 years old).
Its a bit loud on idle, but i guess i can tweak it.
So what's the most monstrous hardware hog I can throw at it that is also fun?
Edit: Downloading the Witcher now, want to see how it runs on max.
Try Ghost Recon Wildlands, despite its age that's probably the most demanding (read: unoptimized) game I have. (It's the only thing I have to drop to 1080p for.)

My House has always been a House of Quake, but I respect your tradition.
My first game played on a new rig is usually whichever one ran like dogshit on my old one and caused me to consider upgrading.
Feels so good when you take a game that you were hobbling through at low settings and crank it to high and plants suddenly sprout up on the formerly barren landscape like it's the 4th day of creation.

Agree..but on my old rig that was almost everything slightly demanding. Even Disco Inferno spun the fans up to max. Speaking of that I should continue my run , I basically only stopped cause the rig was burning.
I had to turn down Bannerlord to almost 2014 standards to keep it from crashing.
I'm soliciting competitors for the 2nd semi-annual Rock Paper Scissors Death Match Tournament.
I'll take requests to join the bracket until let's say Monday 5/18 5pm pacific time. Send me a PM to join don't just post it here in the thread because I may not catch it.
Then depending on how many takers there are I'll generate a tournament bracket.
The rules are pretty simple, when your match comes up, I'll send you a pm asking if you'd like to throw rock paper or scissors, and then we'll see who wins along with the best images I can steal off of google image search and low grade photoshop skills. Understandably folks won't be online all the time. We'll give let's say 24 hours or so for a response between throws. We'll cross that bridge when it comes to it. If you're in here semi-frequently, it shouldn't be a problem. The top 4 contenders will get some prizes. The main thing being bragging rights, but I can usually throw in a little something extra.

On the bright side I can afford a new PC from scratch, on the downside Corona troubles leaves me little time to build A PC much less play on it

JEEEEEEZUS!!!
I'll be lucky to budget a machine that costs as much as your GPU!!!
Well you're going to destroy that.
Even assuming you mean Witcher 3, you will also destroy that.
I thought that was a given.
59 FPS average. I guess I'm in love.
Wait, that's a laptop?
No, he's saying his graphics card is basically a PC
