Wow didn't know they were remastering W101 for Switch. That game needed more love.

I think backers got it early - it is unlocked for play right now!

(This was news to me, I was under the impression it wouldn't unlock until the retail date)

    Oh brilliant

Just saw that Elder Scrolls Blades is now on the store (free) if that is your jam.

EDIT - Just tried it and on the second enemy I fought, the combat system locked up...but not the game. My sword stopped mid-swing and nothing I did could unstick it, so I was sitting there just getting hit. At the rate it was going, it would have likely taken 5 minutes to die. I called it a day, I'll try again later. That definitely doesn't give me much confidence, though!

Now is the time to forge a new history. This DLC also includes three new playable fighters: Sheeva, Fujin and Robocop. New players can purchase the Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Collection, which includes the base game and the Aftermath DLC. Super Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online

Wild Guns – The Kid gang and their army of robots have taken over! Blast your way through villainous outlaws, diabolical robots and towering, screen-filling bosses. Fortunately, you’ve got plenty of moves to help you survive the firepower headed your way. You’ll need a sharp eye and quick-on-the-draw reflexes to survive on your own. Or team up with a friend and go out blazing in two-player co-op.

Panel de Pon – As the stack of puzzle pieces rises, think fast to match panels and set off cascading chain reactions and combos. You’ll have to make strategic choices quickly to counteract the relentless competitor attacks from above. A selection of single-player and two-player modes and options provides escalating action and zippy fun. This title originally launched for the Super Famicom in 1995, but this is the first time this version of the game will be available in the U.S. Though this title was never translated into English, it may seem familiar!

Operation Logic Bomb – Agent Logan has been fitted with bioelectronic implants that grant him superior strength, reflexes and analytical abilities. He’s been charged with a mission to save the Subspace Particle Transfer Project. Now it’s up to him to infiltrate, neutralize the intruders and rescue the scientists in a top-down shooter with giant bosses and frenzied action that doesn’t let up.

Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online

Rygar – An old legend proclaimed, “When the peaceful land is covered with evil spirits, a brave soldier will be brought to life from the dead.” Luckily, Rygar, the mythical hero from Argus, has arrived in order to defeat the evil king Ligar and his army of dangerous beasts. Join forces with Rygar for a hybrid action-adventure game with a distinct blend of platforming and role-playing elements!

I assumed is a global issue as it says the credit card servers are down and there’s a notification on Nintendo’s site stating that there are issues with the credit card server, but that message is from Monday.

    Is that not the case?

The server is currently under maintenance, and credit cards cannot be used.
    Please try again later.

See the Nintendo Support Website for information on network status and maintenance schedules.

The above happens whenever I try to change my credit card.

Maybe I’ll buy some eShop cards off Amazon.

Yeah, the Contra and Castlevania collections came with more (unique) titles and at a far less cost. I'd highly doubt anyone is going in on these bundles. Now, if they were combined at a lower price, that would go over much better.

Combine them for ten bucks, or maybe even fifteen, and you'll get every fan of classic shmups on board. But this is just crazy.

Is there any way to have a news item on the Switch "remind" you?

For example, the upcoming maximus cup in Tetris? I'm sure there isn't; such a feature would get more attention. I know I can favorite a news story on the feed, I just rarely check it anyway. :(

Unrelated; I don't know if it's on sale this week (it was last week when I bought it), but I bought the Switch port of Kingdom: Two Crowns and boy howdy it is mind boggling that it got almost universally positive reviews.

Because it becomes damn near unplayable pretty fast. The performance is atrocious and the framerate drops into actually unplayable levels by island 4/5. Part of it is how many enemies are attacking, how many villagers you have, and seemingly how many coins they're holding (whether they drop them or not). But during a big, nightly, attack, the game can get to be about .5fps (not an exaggeration, and might actually be generous) and running becomes actually impossible, the game can't seem to register coins on the ground, your mount ability will frequently just not register, etc. You can somewhat mitigate this by playing as frugally as possible, but particularly newer players won't know the ins and outs of how to manage greed size and optimal defenses, etc. I did a search and it's the typical situation where some people report the same thing and then others say they played the whole game with no performance issues at all. I found a reddit thread where one of the devs actually responded recently on the topic and it sounds like a transition to a new version of Unity has caused some major performance issues on all the consoles, and they're working on it. So maybe older versions didn't actually have these issues? I've got to hope that's the case, because the reviews I could pull up on youtube were almost all just glowing, one or two even pointed out how well it ran. :rotate: Anyway, maybe just avoid that for now. I've got and have played the game to death on the PC, but I was looking for something to play with the kids and thought it might be fun. It might be! If we could get past island 2 without it being unplayable in multiplayer. Maybe I should just hook up my steam link and run the PC version. Actually...I think I'm going to try that.

Swordbreaker, a decent Choose Your Own Adventure text game, is on sale for $2 this weekend.

I only mention that because if you have it (or any one of a list of games), Archaica: Path of Light becomes, like, a dollar (97% off). If you're into reflect-the-light-beam puzzles this is a steal.

I wish we could somehow filter out the games that are ports from mobile that have come out years ago and cost a few bucks there and have had the switch tax applied and their cost tripled. That crap needs to stop.
