I hope the next console generation sees a revival of the Soldier of Fortune extreme carnage mentality, come on Call of Duty lets really shoot eachothers guts out fie on your high def gun shot sound effects show me them high fidelity gun shot meat effects
Man, that game fucked me up as a kid. That one animation where the dude would stop moving, and then suddenly scream and writhe around for a few more seconds?
I think that single-handedly turned me away from realistic shooters forever. Which is nice, it frees up a lot of time in my gaming schedule.

god I do miss gritty fucking military fucking videogames though, there's a certain kind of ferocious ignorance that's a celebration of the stupidity that is videogames
Rogue Warrior is maybe the most truthful translation of a humans brain and mind into video game form, Richard Demo Dick Marcinko definitely fantasised about and told people he actually did raid a north korean missile complex calling each murdered guard a fucking amateur cocksucker motherfuck dicklicker shitface
I loved the original The Room games but I am very easily spooked and I know The Room VR has supernatural elements. Can anyone spoil me as to the nature and instances of the supernatural in the game and if they’d recommend it?
I certainly hope less slurs fly around in the chat than in rising storm 2. Lots of people using "role play" and "immersion" to excuse use of the g word in that game...
Though something tells me that a game with the premise of "cold war goes hot" will be... Somewhat fraught in its community still.

It is not scary. If you have played the other room games it has the same style of spooky.
It was entertaining. I was slightly spoiled by having played HL Alyx just before and the controls were a bit glitchy at times.

I wanna see that ww1 thing but it's not on the quest and my pc isn't stronk enough for vr.
I want to point out. The scene with British soldiers going over the top. They have the wrong rifles. They have WW2 SMLE No. 4 Mk. Is. They should have SMLE No. 1 Mk. IIIs. The muzzle area is quite different.

This actually literally looks mispelled, even though I know it isn't.
My brain just rejects it and I don't know how to explain it better than that.
It's honestly kind of amazing.

Then it turns out the game just isn't very interesting otherwise

I can't think of anything that's quite this bad coming from middle to AAA tier developers these days
