I never ended up taking the dive into Stardom but whenever @Ms Dapper or other folks gave me updates or filled me in Hana always seemed like the coolest fucking person the world and so talented
This is so heartbreaking and I hope her friends or family get any support they need
The fact that they had 3 significant injuries in a single episode is
Jesus that's not a great look. I get they happen in wrestling but that is.... a lot.
It also acts as an example for why the WWE style exists. Yeah, it's more boring, but wrestlers generally aren't suffering significant injuries, especially on the go-home before a PPV.
Kind of, but the AEW guys aren't doing house shows all the other days like WWE does.
At 7:30PM Eastern (around 7 hours from this post) is the Double Or Nothing preshow, where the only match is Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta) taking on Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy) for #1 contendership to the tag titles
Shawn Spears vs Dustin Rhodes. Dustin's first appearance since Lance Archer destroying him; will mister ten finish the job?
MJF (with Wardlow) vs Jungle Boy. Future of the business vs future of the business
Kris Statlander vs Penelope Ford (with Kip Sabian). Match was supposed to be Statlander vs Britt Baker, but Britt had her knees folded up in a bad dumb spot on the show Wednesday
https://streamable.com/q1sa5x Casino ladder match for a future world title shot; participants include Darby Allin, Colt Cabana, Scorpio Sky, Kip Sabian, Kazarian, Luchasaurus, Orange Cassidy, Joey Janela and a mystery entrant. Orange Cassidy just yesterday discovered what a ladder match is and how many people he was facing in one; he doesn't like his chances. Match was supposed to include Fenix, but Fenix suffered an injury in a bad dumb spot on the show Wednesday; Janela's the replacement. Fenix was my pick to win, so I have no idea what the fuck now
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhvrGt1K0SE Nyla Rose defends the women's title against Hikaru Shida in a no-DQ no countout match. Their first singles match together, and with neither having lost a singles match in 2020, Shida tries to establish herself as the ace of the division, while Nyla looks to continue her dominance as champ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpRO-wfkPu0 Cody vs Lance Archer in the tournament finals for the inaugural TNT title. Archer's manager Jake Roberts debuted in AEW by cutting a scathing promo on Cody, and Archer followed it up by destroying Cody's brother Dustin earlier in the tournament; can Cody get revenge?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obz9IOvSmKw Jon Moxley defends the world title against Brodie Lee. Brodie quickly made a name for himself in his AEW debut by revealing himself as the Exalted One, the leader of the Dark Order, a cult based around empowering losers; the ultimate success as leader would be holding the top prize, the world title. Moxley comes off of fighting the Inner Circle all by himself straight into fighting the Dark Order all by himself because he refuses to back down from a fight; will his arrogance and unwillingness to say no to a challenge be his downfall and cut his title reign short?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBQBHgvY5BQ Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Jake Hager, Santana and Ortiz) vs the Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Hardy, Hangman Adam Page, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) in a Stadium Stampede match. In easily the longest feud of this PPV build, the Inner Circle closed the first Dynamite by ruining the Elite's historic TNT debut and laying them out. Ever since, they've fought individually and even in portional tag matches. For the first time ever though, all five Inner Circle members will face four members of the Elite. With Cody preoccupied, Page having an on-and-off dispute with the Bucks who refused to take him seriously as an equal member/friend, and Nick Jackson being briefly sidelined from a backstage attack, the remnants of the Elite made a phone call and brought onboard Matt Hardy to the company and to the group to provide stability and help in the fight. This Wednesday it all culminated in a show closing brawl between all ten members together for the first time; tonight they meet again for the first time in an official match on the stadium grounds at TIAA Bank Field. Matt Jackson got hurt in a bad dumb spot leaping from the stands on the show Wednesday; while cleared to compete, how much of a disadvantage will the Elite already be at because of a member not being 100%? Will Sammy get run over again? Which group is the future of the company? And will Adam Page ever get the respect he deserves?
This is a really sad week with two young people taken too soon and in very sad circumstances. I don’t have words other than take care of yourselves and each other.

Same. I became a fan of her when I saw her at the MSG show. She crashed into the barrier and grabbed me to steady herself. Her, Kagetsu....it was a fun match. It actually made me follow Stardom for a little and think about seeing if I could see a show of theirs if I ever got to Japan.
This sucks .

Twenty fucking Two she had an entire life and career and the world ahead of her and some fucking keyboard warriors hurt her enough to make this happen
~ Buckaroo Banzai
But any time someone feels awful enough to self-harm, or worse, take their own life, it is a tragedy.
I hope the people that egged this on feel some kind of shame for what they've done and become better people so they don't hurt someone else.
I pray for the family and friends of Hana. This is awful.
Just looking at her twitter and seeing her with her cat. And now she is gone forever.
Hana's tag partner ASUKA was booked on today's chocopro, which was dedicated to her memory

I think that was just a stipulation for the match with Kip Sabian.

It'd be 3.0, right? Impact seemed like Lucha Underground 2.0 for a while.
